A/N: Oh my god I just watched the season 7 finale and I am a mix of emotions. I am relieved, sad, and worried for season 8.

Tommy walks into Buck's apartment to be immediately pushed back out, "shoes off, Kinard."

"Evan, what the hell?"

"I can't risk my floors being dirty," Buck says nervously.

"Okay, okay," Tommy says as he quickly toes his boots off and picks them up, "they're off and these socks are clean."

Buck opens the door more to allow Tommy through, "thank you."

"Evan, are you nervous for your parents coming?"

"No, I'm fine," Buck responds with a shrug of her shoulders as he sprays the counter and wipes it up.

"Ev-."

"I've never introduced them to-."

"Evan, I know I'm your first boyfriend," Tommy responds.

"You didn't let me finish. I've never introduced anyone to my parents. I didn't even want the team to meet them," Buck says.

"So, I'm the first partner you've 'brought home'?"

"Yeah," Buck responds sheepishly.

"Well, I'm honored to be the first," Tommy says as he helps Buck clean.

"Yeah, hold onto that," Buck says softly before checking on the lasagna.

"So, Thomas," Margaret says softly, "Evan tells us that you're a firefighter, too?"

"Yes, ma'am. I'm a pilot with the 217," Tommy responds softly.

"Do you get many injuries up in the air?" Margaret asks softly.

"No, not really. Not nearly as many as I got before I transferred."

"Wow, your parents must appreciate you not making them always worry," Phillip says.

"Here we go," Buck mumbles.

"What was that, Evan?"

"Nothing, mom," Buck responds.

"I have to say, though," Tommy starts, "I miss being on the ground sometimes. I sub at other houses a lot, though."

"I'll never get why you boys must put your life at risk," Margaret says, "all of that time your parents spent creating and raising you, just for you to throw your life away."

"Mom, don't," Buck says.

"What, Evan? How can you do this to us!? You know what we've been through," Margaret says.

"Don't," Buck says as he stands up and starts grabbing the dishes, "don't go there. Don't bring Daniel into this. "

"I'm just saying, you won't know how painful it is to lose a child," Margaret says.

"Mom!" Buck shouts, roughly putting the plates in the sink.

"Don't you raise your voice like that to your mother," Philip says as he stands, Tommy instinctively standing and moving in between him and Buck.

"I think you two should leave," Buck says as he braces himself against the counter.

"Evan, don't be dramatic," Margaret says.

"Me? Dramatic?" Buck turns to his mother, "you're the one who brings up the brother I was born to save and failed to do so. You're the one who didn't even tell me, just treated me like I wasn't wanted, which guess what? I wasn't! I was the spare parts. Sorry, defective spare parts."

Tommy looks at Buck in surprise, this being the first time he has heard the story. He turns back towards the two parents, "I think you two should leave."

"Excuse me? Who do you think you are?" Philip questions, stepping towards Tommy.

"I'm his boyfriend," Tommy responds, stepping towards Philip.

Margaret just sighs, rolls her eyes, and walks out of the apartment with Philip in tow. Tommy turns towards Buck with a sigh to see his boyfriend scrubbing the dishes roughly.

"Ev?" Tommy says softly at the sight, "hey, breathe."

"Scattered 'cross my family line. I'm so good at telling lies. That came from my mother's side. Told a million to survive. Scattered 'cross my family line. God, I have my father's eyes. But my sister's when I cry. I can run, but I can't hide. From my family line," Buck says, throwing the sponge into the sink, water splashing up.

"Evan-."

"It's hard to put it into words. How the holidays will always hurt. I watch the fathers with their little kids. And wonder what I did to deserve this. How could they hurt a little kid? I can't forget, I can't forgive them. 'Cause now I'm scared that everyone I love will leave me," Buck responds.

Tommy has tears in his eyes, "Ev."

"All that I did to try to undo it. All of my pain and all their excuses. I was a kid but I wasn't clueless. Someone who loves me wouldn't do this. All of my past, I tried to erase it. But now I see, would I even change it? Might share a face and share a last name, but we are not the same," by now, Buck's body is shaking violently as tears run down his face and he screams the words.

"Oh, God," Tommy says as he rushes forward, catching Buck as he falls to his knees, "I've got you."

Buck clutches onto the outside of Tommy's sleeve as Tommy holds him. Buck sobs into Tommy's shirt, soaking the fabric with tears.

"I'm here, baby. I've got you," Tommy says softly.

"Hey, thanks for calling," Maddie says as she walks into Buck's apartment, surprised to see her little brother asleep on the couch, "wow, you calmed him down?"

"Yeah," Tommy says softly, "I just figured it might be a good idea for you to be here when he wakes up, just in case."

"You're good for him," Maddie says with a smile.

"So, I have a question, and it's... sensitive."

"Sure, what is it?"

"Who's Daniel?"
