Tommy turns off the engine and slides out of the truck. He walks around and opens Buck's door, "okay, we're here."
At this point, the reality of the situation has started to sink in. Buck silently gets out with the help of Tommy. The two of them walk up the walkway and onto the porch. Tommy pulls out his phone and sends a text to Chimney.
Hey, have Maddie go to your front door.
A few seconds later, footsteps can be heard growing closer. The door swings open to reveal a very confused Maddie. The second he can, Buck launches himself onto her, hugging his big sister tightly. The mere sight of him doing this is enough to bring tears to Tommy's eyes.
"Tommy, what's going on?" Chimney asks as he walks to the door.
"Uh," Tommy scratches the back of his neck, "I can't say."
"What? Why not?" Maddie asks.
"It's his choice," Tommy says as he gestures towards Buck.
Chimney nods in confusion as he guides Tommy into the house, helping Maddie get Buck to sit on the couch. Afterwards, Chimney pulls his former coworker into the kitchen.
"I don't need any details, but is he okay?" Chimney asks.
"I don't know, really. I mean, he hasn't told me," Tommy says softly.
Chimney can see by Tommy's distress that whatever has happened is serious. Tommy, in the lull of conversation, has pulled on his hair slightly. Chimney sees this, grabs a beer from the fridge, and opens it before handing it to his friend. Tommy nods gratefully to him before taking a big swig of the beer. He steps to the side slightly to peek into the living room. Buck still has his arms wrapped tightly around his sister. Maddie has a hand holding the back of Buck's head as she whispers.
A knock on the door gets Chimney back to reality from his thoughts, "jesus, who could that be?"
He walks to the door, opening it to reveal Eddie standing there with a worried expression, "is Buck here? He wasn't at his place."
"Yeah, he i-."
Before Chimney can finish his sentence, Tommy recognizes Eddie's voice and his anger replaces his worry. He storms out of the kitchen and to the foyer, shoving Eddie out of the doorway.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Tommy questions angrily, his shoulders heaving.
"Okay, what is happening right now?" Chimney questions.
"Nothing," Tommy says as he turns back to Chimney.
"I kissed Buck," Eddie says, leading to Tommy turning around and punching him to the ground.
"Woah! Tommy! Bit of an overreaction, right?"
"Believe me, he had it coming," Tommy says before walking past Chimney and into the kitchen to grab ice for his hand, refusing to look at buck out of shame.
"Here you go, bud," Chimney says as he helps Eddie stand up, "care to explain?"
"It's no bi-."
"Try again," Maddie says, now standing next to Chimney, staring Eddie down.
"Maddie," Eddie says, "is Buck okay?"
"What did you do to my little brother?" Maddie asks.
"I kissed him."
"Did he want you to?"
"I-I don't know! I just couldn't figure out what to say or how to show I meant it," Eddie says.
"So, that's a no," Maddie says with an angry nod, "you have ten seconds to get the hell off of my porch before I call Athena."
"Ma-."
"Go home, Eddie," Chimney says softly before shutting the door and turning to Maddie, "so, Eddie-."
"Yeah. Eddie Diaz assaulted my brother," Maddie says as she glances over to wear Buck is sleeping on the couch.
"Hey, guys," Tommy says awkwardly, "I'm sorry if I made this weird for you guys by punching Eddie."
"Honestly, I'm sorry I didn't realize the reality of the situation before," Chimney says, "how's your hand?"
"Eh, it's fine, nothing's broken."

Buck sits up slowly as he rubs the sleep out of his eyes.
"Hey," he turns to see Maddie sitting on the chair with a cup of tea in her hands.
"Hey," Buck says in confusion. The confusion wears off as he remembers the previous night, "w-where's Tommy?"
"He's in the kitchen," Maddie says softly, "he saw you stirring and left the room. He didn't know if him being here was okay with you."
Buck nods, "can you get him?"
Maddie nods and goes and pulls Tommy into the room. Tommy slowly walks over and carefully sits next to Buck, leaving plenty of space between them.
"I'm not glass, Tommy. I won't cruymble if you sit close to me," Buck says, but gives an appreciative smile.
Tommy lets out a soft chuckle and moves closer, "do you need anything?"
"Maddie knows, right?"
"Yeah," Tommy sighs, "something happened after you fell asleep."
"What?"
"He showed up," Maddie says as she walks back into the room.
"Who did?" Buck looks between his sister and boyfriend before he realizes, "E-Eddie?"
Maddie nods softly, "he told us."
"Us?" Buck sighs softly, "so, Chimney knows?"
"I'm sorry, Ev. I really tried to keep it your decision."
"What do I do?"
"Whay do you want to do?" Maddie responds.
"I don't know," Buck say.
"Okay, well, do you think you can work with Eddie?"
"I-I don't know."
"Buck, what do you feel when you think about seeing Eddie?" Tommy asks cautiously.
Buck looks at his lap for a long moment. In this time, Maddie and Tommy share concerned looks. Buck eventually looks back up with a single tear running down his face, quickly wiping it away.
"No," Buck says, "I can't. I think of him and all I can think about is his lips touching mine, his hands holding my face against his as I push his chest."
"Then, you need to tell bobby and Bobby will handle it," Maddie says.
"I don't want him to lose his job, Maddie. He has a child," Buck says.
"Then tell Bobby that. He'll do his best to honor your wishes," Tommy says.
Buck nods before looking at his watch, "is it too early to call him?"
"No, not at all. Where do you want to have this conversation?"
"At his house."
Tommy nods and grabs his keys, "then let's head over. If he's anything like he is on shift, he'll be awake."
Buck nods and stands up, hugging Maddie before following Tommy outside, "here we go."
