Bobby watches as the chief walks out of the office. He takes a slow breath in, closing his eyes, and lets it out just as slow. With another deep breath, Bobby makes his way out of the office as well. As expected, Hen, Chimney, and Eddie are all staring at him from the kitchen, pretending to be busy.

"Oh, hey, Cap," Chimney says, feigning nonchalance, "what did the chief want?"

"First of all, you're horrible at acting natural," Bobby says before his face falls serious, "secondly, I need to talk to the three of you."

"Oh, that doesn't sound good," Hen says as her, Chimney, and Eddie get closer to Bobby.

"It's not," Bobby says, "the chief came to give me a heads up that Buck is suing the department."

"He's what?"

"He feels that he is being treated differently than other firefighters. Because we were on his team, we need to go in for depositions," Bobby says softly.

"I can't believe this," Eddie says softly, almost under his breath.

"There's something else."

"What else could there possibly be?" Hen asks.

"We can't have any contact with him until the lawsuit is concluded."

"Seriously?" Eddie says, "what am I supposed to tell Chris? "Sorry, buddy, but I can't invite Buck over to play games with you because he's suing me?"

"He's not suing you," Hen corrects, "he's suing the department."

"Same difference."

"No, big difference," Bobby says sternly.

"I can't believe him," Eddie says as he punches the bag, "who does he think he is? We've all been hurt. We've all been kept from the field. He just needs to grow up."

"Well, his injury was traumatic and you guys always talk about this being Buck's family," Bosko responds as she holds the bag.

"Yeah, and yet, he is still suing us," Eddie says with one final punch before turning away, "I can't even talk to him."

Eddie opens the door, sighing at the sight of Buck standing there. Buck is rubbing his hand with his thumb anxiously as he looks at Eddie.

"What are you doing here?" Eddie questions uninterestedly.

"I dropped the lawsuit. I didn't know he would use all of that stuff. I was just telling him that because he asked how we are like a family, so I explained all of those times. I thought I told him it was off the record."

Eddie crosses his arms but allows Buck in since it's downpouring outside, "why did you come here, Buck?"

Buck's relieved smile at being let into the house falls at this, "I wanted you to know."

"Buck, whatever your intentions were, you still betrayed us in order to get your way. You're like a five year old," Eddie says.

"I just wanted-."

"Yeah, I know, I know, you just wanted to get back to work, not even caring that you'd be a liability."

"Eddie-."

"If you get hurt, we would focus effort on you, taking effort away from the people we are trying to save," Eddie starts, "not to mention how dangerous it is for you."

"Ed-."

"What's that?" Eddie asks, pointing to Buck's bandaged arm.

"Oh, there was a car accident in front of me on my way home from the lawyer's. I cut my arm on some glass. I got it looked at and it's fine. I know this puts me at higher risk of injury, Eddie," Buck responds, a little bit surprised Eddie didn't interrupt him again.

"Buck, this is exactly my point. You got hurt trying to save people."

"Yeah, which is how my leg got crushed. It's how you got shot, how you fell down the well, how we got held hostage. Danger is a part of the job, Eddie."

"You can't seriously think a firetruck crushing you is normal," Eddie retorts.

"Okay, so maybe it's an outlying scenario, but you get my point," Buck responds.

"Buck, I can't watch that again," Eddie says.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, I watched you pinned under a firetruck, Buck. I couldn't come to you. I tried, believe me, but Hen and Chimney held me back."

"Yeah, I know, Eddie. I f-."

"No, don't compare this to the well or me being shot because that was nothing compared to this. Nothing will ever compare to me watching the man that I love lay under a truck while some idi-."

"What?" Buck interruots.

"What?"

"The man that you what?"

Eddie sighs, now realizing his slip up, "love. The man that I love, okay? Why do you think I was more upset about the no contact rule than Chimney?"

Buck can't think of anything to say for once. Instead of verbally responding, he moves hastily towards Eddie, connecting their lips by pulling Eddie's face to his. It takes Eddie a second to overcome the initial shock, but he is soon kissing back. When they pull away, both of their shoulders are rising and falling rapidly as they stare into each other's eyes.

"Well, that's new information."
