A/N: Okay so I had no idea what to trigger Tommy with. I don't know him enough. So, naturally, this came to mind. I'm sorry.

Tommy's eyes widen at the sight. He is up in the helicopter with his fellow firefighter, Higgins. Tommy's looking out the window as they hover, making sure they aren't needed anymore. Tommy spots a firefighter entering the building from the window after having repelled down from the roof. Just as the firefighter swings through the window, an explosion occurs, throwing him back out the window. Tommy gasps in shock and fear, his heart hammering in his chest.
"Holy shit!" Higgins explains as he lowers the microphone of his headphones, "217 to IC Nash. Do you copy?"
"Yeah, I copy," Bobby rushes out through the radio.
"Nash, this is Kinard," Tommy says, "what the hell just happened?"
"Uh," Bobby says nervously.
"Nash! Who was in the explosion!?"
"It was Buck, Tommy."

"Wine or beer?" Buck asks as he and Tommy put their jackets on the rack by the door.
"Beer," Tommy says with a sigh, rolling his shoulders back.
"Bad shift?"
"Not bad, just long," Tommy responds, taking the beer from Buck as the two walk over to Buck's couch.
"Well, now we both have three days off," Buck responds, placing his beer on the table next to his couch.
"Thank God for that," Tommy responds.
"Just the two of us for the next seventy two hours," Buck says as he moves to straddle Tommy's lap, "how will we ever fill the time?"
"Well," tommy says, placing his hands on the small of Buck's back, "I think we'll find something to do."
Buck lets out a chuckle as he bows his head to connect his lips with Tommy's. It's not long before they're breaking so that Buck can pull his shirt over his head, Tommy following suit.

"Kinard!"
Tommy jumps slightly as he is pulled from the memory, "yeah, what?"
"I asked if you want me to land so you can get out before I head back to the station," Higgins says.
"I'm fine."
"To-."
"I said I'm fine," Tommy reiterates.
"Then why do you look so not fine?"
"Higgins, shut it and land the thing," Tommy speaks roughly.
"See, and I thought you were-."
"Do you want to go skydiving?"
"Well now, that's just rude. I was just trying to distract you."
"Distract me? From Evan being in an explosion? Higgins, he went into a building then got thrown out of it. How the hell does that mean anything good?"
"Look, Tommy, I want to help calm you down, but that explosion lowered our visibility," Higgins says.
"Hey, 217, you still up there?" Bobby's voice comes through the radio.
"Yeah, we're here, what's the status?"
"The fire is contained-."
"That's great, Captain Nash, but I think Kinard meant the status on a certain firefighter," Higgins says into the radio.
"Right," Bobby responds, "he's being taken to the hospital as a precaution."
Tommy turns to Higgins, "get me the hell back to the station so I can get to Buck."
Higgins nods, turning the helicopter as he radios back to their own captain.

"Kinard, here," Tommy is handed his duffel bag as he climbs out of the helicopter, "you're off shift."
"Thanks, captain," Tommy says, nodding gratefully towards Higgins before he runs out towards his truck.
His heart is hammering in his chest as he drives off. He replays Buck's accident over and over in his head. He pulls into the parking lot of the hospital and parks horribly crooked. He turns the vehicle off before jumping out, locking the truck behind him as he runs towards the automatic doors. The second he enters the building, he runs to the first desk.
"Firefighter Evan Buckley, where is he?"
"What's your relation to him?"
"I'm his b-."
"Tommy?" Tommy turns to see Buck standing there with bandages on his arm and a crutch under one.
"Oh my God," Tommy says as he rushes forward, losing his breath, "Ev, what- oh my God."
"Hey, Tommy," Buck places his hand on Tommy's cheek, "breathe."
"I-I-I c-c-c-can't," Tommy says as he shakes his head.
"Okay, come on," Buck pulls Tommy out of the noisy hospital-struggling but making do with the crutch-and to the first bench he sees, "look at me, Tommy. Hear me speak. I'm okay."
"Evan, I s-saw you fly out of a building after an explosion. If that rope frayed-."
"Hey, it didn't, though. I'm right here," Buck places Tommy's hand on his chest, "my heart is beating, okay? I'm alive."
"You're okay," Tommy says with a breath before hugging Buck tightly.
Buck lets out a gasp of shock before breathing deeply before hugging Tommy back, "I'm okay."
"Alright," Tommy says as he pulls back and wipes his tears away, "what did the doctors say?"
"I have a mild burn on my arm and I sustained a sprained ankle, but that's it," Buck responds.
"Oh my God," Tommy says.
"Okay, hey, hey, hey, hey," Buck says when he sees Tommy start to get worked up again, "I'm okay. I've had plenty of worse injuries."
"Th-that's not helpful," Tommy says with a sigh.
"Right, sorry," Buck says softly with a light chuckle.
"So, you're okay? Not in any pain?"
"I'm sore, but that's pretty much it. They gave me some over the counter meds," Buck says softly, "they also took me out of work for a week."
"You know," Tommy coughs, "I think I'm coming down with a bug."
Buck smirks, "well then, I guess we better get you back to my place."
"How about we do my nice, one level place instead," Tommy suggests as he gestures to the crutch leaning against the bench.
"Good idea," Buck says as he stands with Tommy's help.
