Chapter 47

One day after their shift, Andy and Robert went to the supermarket together to buy groceries and once back home Andy and Robert started sorting out everything they had bought. However, there was one thing that didn't add up very much to Robert, there was something strange and so as soon as he finished arranging some things, he joined his wife in the living room so he could talk to her.

Robert: "Hey, we need to talk about something" he said as he sat down on the couch next to his wife.

Andy: "Did something happen?" she asked worriedly.

Robert: "No, but it's just that I noticed something and.." she took a deep breath and then asked her something. "you're pregnant?" Andy made quite a shocked face.

Andy: "Why this question?"

Robert: "Because I went to the bathroom to put the pads in the cupboard and there were still the two full packs I bought last month and also there are still all the chocolates in the kitchen"

Andy: "Oh, I didn't realize that. Do you think I might be pregnant?"

Robert: "Maybe yes"

Andy: "We should go buy a test" Robert nodded.

Robert: "The pharmacy is nearby, you stay here and I'll go buy it"

Andy: "Ok, but can you do something first?" Robert nodded. "Hold me?"

Robert: "Come here" he replied as she cuddled up to her husband. "I love you"

Andy: "Me too" she replied as she snuggled in her husband's arms.

After we stayed in that position for a while, Robert went out to buy a pregnancy test while Andy stayed at home. While she was at home alone, she tried to remember if she really hadn't had her period the previous month and actually she had never come. Meanwhile Robert arrived in no time at the pharmacy and after taking a pregnancy test, went home to his wife. When he entered the house he found Andy crying on the sofa and immediately approached her.

Robert: "What's going on?"

Andy: "How did I not notice that my period was not there? I should have noticed that" she said bursting into tears even more.

Robert: "Hey, hey, it's okay, don't worry" he said hugging her. "I should have noticed it too since I usually prepare a hot water bottle for you and leave the chocolates outside the cabinet according to the day"

Andy: "But it's not your job to remind you when my period is due, I should remember it"

Robert: "Okay, but it doesn't matter now. Do you want to take the test?"

Andy: "Yes" she replied nodding. "But I'm afraid to know the result"

Robert: "What would you like the result to be?"

Andy: "I honestly don't know. If it was negative I would be sorry, but if it was positive.. I don't know. I've never been good with children, I'm afraid"

Robert: "Whatever the result, I'm here with you. And then you're great with children, just see you when you're with Noah, Chloe and Thomas. You look great with them" she replied giving her a kiss on the cheek.

Andy: "Yes, but they are great, it's easy to be with them"

Robert: "I know, but you will never be alone"

Andy: "I know" she replied with a small smile. "I'm going to take the test" he replied, getting up from the sofa.

Robert: "I'm coming with you"

Andy: "Okay, but you'll wait outside the bathroom"

Robert: "But I.."

Andy: "No, you won't be in the bathroom with me while I pee on that stick"
