If you play with fire.. you get burned

Chapter 33

Andy went to lie down in bed while Robert, as quickly as possible, filled out the zoo call report and once he was done, he joined Andy in bed. When he lay down next to her, he pulled her to him and hugged her.

Andy: "You're here" she said cuddling up to him as she kept her eyes closed.

Robert: "Yes, I'm here. Now she goes back to sleep. Good night my love" Andy smiled.

Andy: "What did you say?"

Robert: "I said good night kitty" he said correcting the sentence he had accidentally said and left a kiss on her shoulder.

Andy fell asleep again in a few seconds while Robert fell asleep a few minutes later because he was left thinking about what, perhaps by mistake or perhaps because he really wanted to, he had said to Andy just now.

No one had slept much that night because during the night they had been called to a large fire in a candy factory.

Robert: "I know you haven't had a chance to rest, but I'm sure this won't affect your work"

All: "Yes Captain"

Robert: "Please, be careful and try to put out these flames as soon as possible"

Robert told everyone what they should do while he had to stay out to command the situation. One team entered to look if there were still people inside the factory while another team started putting out the flames. In some areas of the factory, some were having difficulty walking because the sugar was melting and very sticky. Inside the factory there were two people who had entered to try to turn off some machinery, but due to the sugar that had already melted, they had been trapped in a corner of the building and were waiting for someone to come and help them. The team had had some difficulty getting to them, but once they got them to a safe place, they too helped put out the flames. It was a very big fire and it took all night to put out the fire. When they got back to the station they were all visibly very tired and luckily for them, their shift was over and they could go home. But before everyone changed to go home, Robert told everyone they had done a great job and Andy remembered that there was dinner at his and Robert's house that night. After Andy and Robert quickly changed, they went home where Elena was waiting for them.

Elena: "Good morning" she said with a big smile.

Andy: "Good morning mom"

Robert: "Good morning Elena" he replied yawning.

Elena: "You look very tired"

Andy: "We are very tired. We didn't sleep last night, there was a call and we were out until recently"

Robert: "Right now I just want to go to bed and sleep, but the room is too far away" she said approaching the sofa. "I guess I'll stay here"

Robert lay down on the sofa while Andy went to the kitchen because he wanted to have breakfast first. After Andy had breakfast she went into the living room, she got a blanket and she pulled it over Robert and before walking away from him, she kissed him on the cheek. Andy then went to the room while Elena left the house to let them rest peacefully. Andy had tried to fall asleep but she couldn't so she went back downstairs and went to Robert's.

Andy: "Pastelito" she said in a very low voice. "Can I stay here with you?"

Robert: "Come" he said moving the blanket and Andy lay down on top of him. "You look like a koala like that" he said as he pulled the blanket back over them.

Andy: "But I'm your koala"

Robert: "Yes, only mine" he replied hugging Andy.

In a short time both fell asleep and slept embracing on the sofa until lunchtime. Elena had come home a long time ago, she had been shopping for things for dinner and when she saw them sleeping together, she smiled. Trying not to wake them up, Elena started some preparations for dinner things because she needed time to cook them and in the meantime she was also preparing lunch. When Andy and Robert woke up, they felt refreshed but neither of them wanted to move because they were comfortable in that position. Robert put his hands under Andy's shirt and caressed her back while she was leaving many small and tender kisses on Robert's neck and mischievously moved on top of him.
