Chapter 76

When his shift at the station ended, what Robert loved most was going home to his family. Every time he opened the door of the house, Mila and Marcus crawled very quickly towards him and Robert picked them up and cuddled them and then sweetly kissed his wife.

Andy: "How was your day?"

Robert: "As usual" he replied as he continued to cuddle his children. "A few calls, the usual paperwork, you know, the usual stuff" Andy laughed. "What's your day like?"

Andy: "I spent the whole day chasing these two little devils. Do you want to know how they wanted to eat today?" Robert nodded. "I put them in the high chair as usual, but they started screaming so I put them back on the floor and they started following Lilli. They would pet Lilli and then come back to me to eat a teaspoon of food and then go back to Lilli. They did this until they finished all their food and then fell asleep on the carpet"

Robert: "Are you serious?" Andy nodded.

Andy: "I also made some videos" she replied, taking her phone to show Robert the videos he had made.

Robert: "They were so nice"

Andy: "Yes, but it was also quite tiring keeping up with both of them"

Robert: "I imagine so. You know how much I would love to stay home with you. I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of things they do" he replied in a somewhat sad tone of voice.

Andy: "I think there will be a lot of things that we will both miss as they continue to grow. I'm getting used to being at home with them, it will be difficult when I have to go back to work" she said resting her head on her husband's shoulder and then she gave a little laugh.

Robert: "Why are you laughing?"

Andy: "Because before you I hated the idea of becoming a mother and all that and now I just want to be with them"

Robert: "The same thing goes for me. They both hated this idea because we still hadn't found the right person to start a family with" Andy nodded.

Andy: "I love you"

Robert: "I love you too" he responded by giving his wife a tender kiss, but as usual Mila and Marcus started screaming for attention. "Hey, hey, you two. You can't do this every time I kiss your mother" he said trying to be a little angry without success and both Mila and Marcus started laughing.

Andy: "No, you can't be mad at them"

Robert: "It's kind of hard to look like you're angry when they look at you that way"

Andy: "It's true" she replied smiling.

After they both cuddled their children some more, Andy and Robert then gave Mila and Marcus a bath. Once Andy and Robert had diapered and cleaned their onesies on their children, they went downstairs where they fed the babies. That evening Mila and Marcus ate peacefully and for the first time they didn't even get dirty. Andy and Robert were very incredulous and both were convinced that this would be the first and last time it happened. While Marcus and Mila played with Lilli, Robert and Andy had dinner and then started the usual bedtime routine to put their children to sleep. Like every evening Andy and Robert went to their room, put Mila and Marcus in the middle, Lilli got into bed with them and then Robert started telling a bedtime story. As usual, Mila and Marcus moved around a lot and then fell asleep cuddled up to their parents. That evening Mila cuddled up to her father while Marcus cuddled up to her mother. Andy and Robert, before putting their children in their cots, waited a while to be sure that they slept peacefully. Once they were sure that Marcus and Mila were sleeping peacefully, Andy and Robert took the children to their cots and then they went into the living room. Lilli, on the other hand, as she was now used to, remained in the room with the children and went to sleep at the end of their beds.
