Chapter 52

While they were celebrating together with Chloe, someone rang the doorbell and Emily went to answer the door. When she opened the door she saw that there was someone Andy definitely didn't want to see.

Emily: "What are you doing here?"

Jack: "I came to talk to Andy" he staggered back.

Emily: "It's not the right time. You've been drinking and you'll ruin this evening"

Jack: "But I just want to talk to her"

Emily: "I already told you this is not the right time. If you really care about Andy, he'll let him be happy and don't ruin this evening for her. We're all here for Andy and Robert tonight, we're all happy for them and I won't let you screw it up" Jack was trying to get in but Emily kept blocking him and then William came to her aid as well.

William: "You don't need to stay here, you have to go home. I'll call you a taxi because obviously you can't drive in those conditions"

Jack: "Andy is really lucky to have a family like yours" he said as he sat down on the floor and Emily hailed him a cab. "I was abandoned by my family when I was little and the families I've been in have never treated me like a son" William, while waiting for the taxi to arrive, sat down next to Jack. "My only real family are the people I work with, but I think that will no longer be the case. I screwed up and lost the only family I had"

William: "It's true, you made a mistake, but you didn't lose your family. They all love you, but you'll have to apologize to both Andy and Robert for your behavior"

Jack: "And do you think that by apologizing things can go back to the way they were?"

William: "If your apology is sincere, yes, things will go back to the way they were before"

Emily: "Now go home, have a good sleep and if you want tomorrow morning, you will show up to apologize, ok?" Jack nodded.

Jack: "But they hate me, especially Andy"

Emily: "You said mean things to her, she has every right to be mad at you. Probably if you show up here again at their front door they won't let you in, so tomorrow morning you'll come knocking on our door and then we'll come here together"

Jack: "Okay. Why are you so nice to me?"

William: "Because you too are part of this big family and if there is a problem in a family, we help each other to try to solve it. I think you're a good person and don't deserve to be left out of your family" Jack nodded. "But I warn you, if you say such things again, then you will be in trouble. Robert is like a brother to me and Andy is like a sister to me and I will do anything to make sure no one gets in the way of their happiness. It took them a long time to realize that they are in love with each other, they are happy together and both are very happy with the arrival of the twins"

Jack: "Ok, I understand" he replied and then stood up because the taxi had arrived.

Emily: "Hope to see you in the morning" she said and Jack nodded.

Once Jack got into the cab, Emily and William went back into the house and they both intended not to tell Andy and Robert about what had just happened. It was a happy evening where they were celebrating Chloe's birthday and Andy and Robert's happiness and nothing could spoil that evening. Emily and William joined the others again and they had made up a little lie about who was at the door and everyone had believed it. In the meantime Chloe had finished opening all the presents, but the one from her brother Noah was still missing.

Noah: "Aunt Andy helped me do this" he said handing his sister a pink envelope.

Chloe: "Ohhh, that's beautiful" she replied when he saw the drawing Noah had done for her. "Thank you" she said kissing her little brother on the cheek and then she turned to aunt Andy. "Aunt Andy, since it's my birthday, can I sleep with you and Uncle Sully?"
