Chapter 82

Even though a week had passed since Mila and Marcus started calling Daniel grandfather, the twins still didn't say the word grandmother. Whenever Eleonor and Elena tried to get their grandchildren to say the word grandmother, they always responded by saying grandfather and then smiled. It was impossible for the two of them to get angry because Mila and Marcus were very cute when they smiled even if now they were a little upset because they still didn't say the word grandmother. Mila and Marcus now every time Eleonor and Elena took them to the station they first ran to their parents and then looked for Daniel. He wasn't always there at the station, but as soon as he was able to free himself from his commitments he went to the station to be with his two women and children. As had already happened other times, while the team was out on a call and while Elena and Eleonor went to pick up the other grandchildren, Daniel took care of Mila and Marcus. When the two twins were with him they really always did whatever they wanted and now at the station there was a part of the wall of the relaxation room completely colored because the children had enjoyed coloring the wall.

Mila: "Grandpa" she said touching her tummy because she was hungry.

Daniel: "Are you hungry?" the little girl nodded. "Are you hungry too?" he asked Marcus who also nodded. "Then let's go have a snack" he said, taking the two children in his arms.

While the children carefully followed what Daniel did, he chopped up some strawberries then took raspberries and blueberries and then put them in yogurt for Mila and Marcus. However, Daniel always added little pieces of biscuits and the two children were always very happy. To entertain the children, Daniel told them that it was a secret, but in reality before doing it he had asked Andy and Robert if he could do it.

Daniel: "Now the three of us make a deal" he said while the children ate their yogurt. "Now you try saying the word grandma so when your grandmother arrive, you will call them that, they will be very happy and then I will give you a cookie" both Mila and Marcus shook their heads. "Two biscuits?" both children nodded. "you two are very smart" Mila and Marcus smiled big and then finished their snack.

Once Mila and Marcus finished eating the yogurt, Daniel then made them wash their hands, changed their diapers and then while the three of them played together, Daniel tried to get them to say the word grandma. At first the two twins kept saying the word grandfather, but eventually they managed to say the word grandmother too. As soon as Marcus and Mila heard their parents arrive, the two children started running and Daniel caught them in time before they went down the stairs alone.

Robert: "Not only am I your bodyguard, but so is Daniel" Andy smiled.

Andy: "We're lucky he's here"

Robert: "I agree" he replied smiling and then took both children in his arms. "Did they be good?" he asked Daniel.

Daniel: "Yes, as always" he replied smiling. "And I really think that today Elena and Eleonor will be happy"

Andy: "How come?"

Daniel: "Because they finally managed to say the word grandmother"

Andy: "So yeah, I really think they're going to go crazy" all three started laughing.

Daniel: "They've already had a snack, they've both had their diapers changed and.."

Andy: "Thank you so much for your help"

Daniel: "It's always a pleasure to be with them. Grandpa Daniel is always at your disposal" Andy and Robert smiled. "I'd like to bring them to the department someday, if that's not a problem for you"

Andy: "Oh my God, they're going to be very confusing"

Daniel: "And that would be a good thing. That place is boring most of the time and we really need two little angels like them to liven up the environment"
