Chapter 73

After that night in which Andy and Robert hadn't slept much because Marcus had woken up crying several times during the night, Andy and Robert had discovered that the child had the flu and that was why he wasn't sleeping. Mila also subsequently felt ill and so Robert decided to take a few days off so he could stay at home with his family. Elena and Eleonor had tried to spend some time with their grandchildren in order to let Andy and Robert rest a little, but the two children only wanted to be in their parents' arms.

Andy: "I'm sorry that Mila and Marcus don't want to be with you" she said to her mother and Eleonor.

Elena: "You don't have to worry. They are sick and it is normal that they only want to be with their parents"

Eleonor: "You and Robert only think about the two of them, we'll take care of the rest of the things to do around the house"

Andy: "Are you sure?"

Elena: "Yes" she replied, smiling sweetly. "Now go upstairs with the children while we tidy up things here and take care of Lilli"

Robert: "Thank you for your help"

Eleonor: "Stop thanking us" she replied, snorting, triggering a small laugh from Andy and Robert.

Robert: "Ok, ok"

Andy and Robert, along with their children, went to the bedroom so that Andy would breastfeed the twins and then she and Robert would try to get them to sleep a little. Both Mila and Marcus fell asleep while taking milk and Andy, afraid that the twins might wake up, continued to put them to sleep while he continued to hold them.

Andy: "I hope they can get some sleep now"

Robert: "I hope so too. Last night they were very awake and slept badly" he replied, standing next to his wife. "You should try to get some sleep too"

Andy: "I can't" she replied of her looking into her husband's eyes. "I have to make sure they sleep"

Robert: "I know, but you need to sleep too"

Andy: "And you too"

Robert: "I'll do it later" he replied, giving his wife a quick kiss.

Andy: "So you sleep now while I'll sleep later"

Robert: "No. You need sleep more than I do right now. Don't worry about them, I'll stay here, okay?" Andy nodded.

Andy: "I love you"

Robert: "I love you too" he responded by kissing her again.

Trying not to wake Mila and Marcus, Andy settled herself better by resting her head on her husband's shoulder and then after a few minutes she fell asleep. Andy, unlike the twins, continued to sleep while Mila and Marcus woke up shortly after. Robert knew Andy needed to sleep so he picked up the twins and went downstairs to Eleonor and Elena. The two grandmothers immediately prepared the bottle of milk for their grandchildren and then Robert gave the bottle to his children. Mila and Marcus were calm after they ate and Robert took the opportunity to measure their temperature to see if they still had a fever. Compared to that morning the temperature had dropped and the fever was disappearing. Elena and Eleonor said goodbye to their grandchildren and Robert and then left because they had to pick up Noah from kindergarten and Chloe and Thomas from school. As soon as the two women left the house, Lilli returned to the house and approached Robert and twins. Lilli started licking Mila and Marcus' little hands and they started laughing. Since Mila and Marcus were calm, Robert tried to put them on the carpet so that they could play and the twins, since Lilli was lying in front of them, caressed Lilli. Then when Andy woke up and noticed that neither Robert nor the twins were there in the room, she immediately became worried and immediately went downstairs.
