Ep. 9 "RoZwell" Ch. 6/6

Something Joy had just come to notice amidst her grumbling of annoyance against her parents was the entire underground base had an alarm blaring which gave her flashbacks to that one time in a nuclear plant.
Joy simply hoped this compound wasn't radioactive because she needed to take out multiple frustrations before dying.
Warren and Vasquez suddenly stopped in the middle of the corridor, Joy nearly crashing into the latter's back before she managed to catch herself to see what they had come across. It was a door, a beat up door smeared in blood. Could it be possible that they were in a movie that was a combination of horror and sci-fi? Because that's how Joy felt at the moment.
"Something sure wanted out of here. Seems empty now."
"Wait. Where's Bernadette?" Joy looked over her shoulder where Bernadette was standing only seconds prior to find it empty. She huffed, between Bernadette and her parents, Joy didn't know who was higher up the 'I will stab you mercilessly' list.
"I'm here," Bernadette's voice came from inside the now doorless room, a place which the quarter of the group didn't hesitate to run into.
"This is what happens when we don't trust them." Just like pretty much every last room Joy had ever been inside in the apocalypse, it was strewn with dead bodies which had surprisingly not turned Z.
"Aliens did this?"
"We left them no choice." Gently Joy felt 10K push her aside as he strung the strap of his rifle behind his back and knelt down to inspect the bodies. Only he wasn't inspecting the bodies, that wasn't his type of thing, he was inspecting the weird gun by one of the bodies and looking relatively adorable while eyeing it gleefully.
"That work?" 10K pointed the strange gun at one of the already dead bodies and pressed the trigger but nothing but a whirring sound came up, like the sound of one of those remote control cars whenever they got stuck against a wall.
"Can't tell if it's out of... ammo or batteries."
"Both?" 10K shrugged and placed the gun back down to reach for his trusty rifle instead. No point in carrying a gun that couldn't shoot, it was like carrying a dead body just because you liked their shoes.
"What do you think was in there?" Joy looked up from her shuffling feet to see where Vasquez and Warren had gone off to.
You remember the heebie-jeebies? They made yet another appearance once Joy spotted some sort of pod straight from Alien the movie, and it was all shattered. Joy was liking the underground compound less and less.
"That thing we killed?"
"I hope so, 'cause if it's something worse than that, I don't wanna find out."
