Ep. 15 "All Good Things Must Come To An End" Ch. 2/9

•——— ——— —•——

The group went from offence to defence mode. Meaning, rather than test who could drink the most shots in five minutes, they were nursing the very same drink they started with while glaring at the bounty hunters who happily downed their liquor.

Worst of all; Joy still hadn't received her chicken nuggets.

"Another round of drinks for my men," The balding man who Joy supposed was their leader called out to Auntie, holding his empty glass in the air.

"This time, make it the clear stuff," Whether it was moonshine, tequila, vodka, or mezcal, Joy didn't know, but the scent was certainly pungent enough that she could smell Auntie pouring their glasses even from across the room.

Which is when the bald man caught Joy's eye, lips stretching into a half smirk, half sneer.

"Hey. We're celebrating over here. How 'bout I buy y'all a drink?" He toasted at Joy and Warren specifically, both with equal interest on the man as each other—meaning it would never happen.

That didn't stop 10K's own jealousy from flaring up as he tightened his hold on both his rifle and Joy—the two most precious things in his life.

"No, thanks. We already got one." Warren took the lead in rejecting him, more for the man's sake than their own.

After all, Vasquez and 10K were bound to shoot him if he tried again to make those goggly eyes trying to eat both women like the platter of chicken nuggets Joy still hadn't received.

"Well, if you won't come drink with me, you won't mind if I just mosey on over and have a drink with you?" He wasn't really asking for permission, as by the time he was done speaking he'd already taken a seat between Joy and Warren.

They both scooted away, Addy tightening her grip around the Z-Whacker at the opposite side of the table, while the other bounty hunters joined their leader at the group's table.

All men who were eying them like a piece of meat, oh goodie.

"I think our partners might mind." Joy sneered at the man, nodding at 10K and Vasquez.

The latter hadn't done much other than set his finger over the trigger, but the cold eyes set in a furious glare at them spoke the volume his actions didn't.

Meanwhile, 10K's overall demeanour made even Joy want to cower away. Not only was he glaring at the bald man, hand over the hilt of the gun in his waistband to pull it out at any second, but his tight grip on Joy pressing her so close to him, they practically became one said everything the man needed to know about how willingly his poor attempts at flirting were being received.

The bald man must be stupid because he found both the men's threats hilarious for whatever reason.

"Relax, fellas. I'm gonna buy you a drink too. Hell, drinks for everyone," That wouldn't stop their jealous flares, but at least they got some free liquor.
