Ep. 15 "All Good Things Must Come To An End" Ch. 7/9

•——— ——— —•——

The gunshots had yet to cease, glass and liquor spilling all over the bar, the flipped table they hid behind starting to chip, and resources dwindling faster than the Zeros.

That was the good news.

The bad news literally broke through the back door, their first breech amidst their sanctuary.

A man—with the Zeros no doubt—stepped over the shattered pieces of wood that had once been a door, twirling around a decorated lengthy staff with an iron skull soldered to the top.

His completely stainless white suit and matching skull mask said one of two things when he set his hollow stare on the huddled Addy and Joy—he either hadn't fought a day in his life to keep as clean as he was; or, alternatively, he had fought enough battles to the point where he always won without a speck on him.

The dissociated Joy didn't give time for her mind to activate into answering her suspicions before she shot the last three bullets of her gun in between the white-dressed Zero's eyes.

Each and every last one bounced off the adorable skull mask—he was officially bulletproof from the front, and he was too close for Joy to sneak away and shoot him in the back.

Addy's and her only hope was Warren tucked away behind a wall, her gun at the ready to shoot for when the Zero entered her range to shoot him from the side—a place that his mask did not reach.

It proved to be just as useless because when Warren pressed the trigger, the gun clicked empty.

"Shit." Warren muttered, drawing attention to herself from the Zero and his freshly cocked head before ducking back into her hiding place.

The momentary distraction gave Joy and Addy enough time to slip into a different corner of the room to stand and face the new threat. Both reached for their respective melee weapons, however, Addy was quick to stop Joy from further retrieving her hatchet, her glare set on the white-dressed Zero.

"I got him, cover Doc and Vasquez." Any protest Joy could think of was quickly quieted by the determined set to Addy's eyes as she advanced on the Zero, twisting her Z-Whacker in her hand before holding it out like a baseball bat.

Both Z-Whacker and the Zero's skull staff met in a loud bone shaking clang, Addy forcing the weapons to lock together, so Joy had a chance to move back into their original position without landing in harm's way.

However, Addy should have been more worried about what kind of harm the white-dressed Zero would come to be in because when Joy slipped past him, she also ended up slicing his leg in the process, drawing even more attention to herself.

But Joy wasn't his current target, Addy was. Therefore, he unlocked his weapon and continued to try to gather a hit on the redhead, ignoring the momentary sniper setting up to attack his comrades.
