Melinda
Today is the beginning of the start to the end.
"Hold your tongue, commoner!" The guard called out to the man that approached us, his strides were steady and confident and he didn't seem all that bothered by the fact that there were armed guards surrounding him with swords, others with magically-laced arrows.
He walked as if this slum in itself belonged to him.
A king amid peasants.
His gaze was engrossed with my presence, as if he had zeroed in intentionally, the heat of his eyes lasered and focused on one and one thing only.... Me.
As I was not big on eye contact with individuals, I kept my stare on something around him, like his hair was light chalky blue, dull, and nearly gray it seems in shade. His eyes were a white gold, also pale but vibrant in the sense that if it were nighttime it'd probably glow ominously like a runaway cat.
Concerning his appearance, he appeared as any other commoner would in a Doyle vest with stipple weave and linen wool blend, some matching trousers, and some shoes that surely would have burst at the seams by now if not for the handiwork of a skilled shoe-maker who seemed it back together.
A soft cap rested against his head, enough to pull back the strands of hair that were sticky and stuck to the side of his face from the lack of hygiene commonly associated with people in the slums. It wasn't necessarily a sight many wanted to see, but it was evident this man's particular animosity stemmed from the reality of his living situation.
And he had been doing it for years, I was almost going to be twenty, and the first time I had managed to catch of glimpse of him was due to the fact that he was inciting riots with a group of his followers who were protesting the state of the slums and the sewage issue that was beginning to flood the entirety of the city of Klocsas.
That was where I met Zorion who had unconsciously stood beside me, going about as he fed me information about the current situation. I'm sure like many, he noticed the caliber of woman I was—most likely due to the fact that I was dressed pristinely and had my knight beside me and maybe was intrigued that I had enough care to stop and listen to what a man like him would say.
Conláed Cheixun.
He finally stopped his stride, just in time for the tip of a knight's blade to nearly pook at the wool vest he wore. He simply looked down at the metal and with a curt smile, returned his gaze back to where Runnie and I stood rather perlexed by his sudden appearance.
"Excuse me for the sudden appearance and expression of such hostile words, Your Majesty... you can imagine seeing such a lovely Queen appear in such a wretched place could be a cause of concern for most with a reasonable mind." He said.
