Melinda
On the stipulations I provide, I will rise to my desires.
"Restore our family's name and prestige? How do you plan on doing such a thing when we have already been blacklisted from society for so long?!" Adrasteia proclaimed.
"I know this declaration seems outrageous at the current moment, but I do not come with any ill intentions. Things will be moving rather quickly and this is the best way I can facilitate the truth to come out." I stated.
Again, the Da Brenci family's faces were all laced with confusion and even a bit of worry, but I expected as much. On our way back to Klocsas, Andrew, Fenrir, Soril, and Sundri discussed in the carriage what we planned to do now that I was joining in on the battle to reclaim Eerly.
Soril without a doubt informed us that she would also be coming; there was no way in her words, "I would leave you alone to fight without protection!" Which only prompted Fenrir to follow suit and Sundri, as my personal knight was going anywhere I was regardless of the stakes.
Now that it was settled that we would all be joining, I wanted to make the best of the opportunity.
With what we knew about the crystal distribution and the false aura knights stemming from that illegal trade, it was clear that battle was going to be cooked from the start; that's if they even had a fighting chance, to begin with.
The plot was to expose them and prove that the Da Brenci method was the one and only technique that gave the soldiers an opportunity to even the playing field; the only efficient way we could prove that was actually putting that in action, meaning we needed actual aura knights fighting alongside us to reveal the discrepancy between the skills of these frauded personnel.
In addition to that, we could use the additional troops we could find. Andrew had advised during his war lessons with the commanders constantly advised how numbers were dwindling and how it was becoming increasingly harder to supplement them therefore making recruiting more difficult. Soril and Fenrir's family had a lot of scattered warriors who could no longer claim the family name due to the order presented to them generations again, but if we could collect more mages and even regular fighters who knew the Brenci method, we could possibly be in better hands.
There was also a chance of enlisting civilians who were willing to be trained and sent off with the next fleet of soldiers being sent when it came time for Andrew to head down to Eerly.
So, that was why we were here. It was time for the sage family to no longer live in the shadows of shame. The shame that was never meant to be theirs; their loyalty their intelligence and their willingness to fight the animosity that has been thrown onto them their entire lives will cease.
Andrew and I would make sure of that.
We needed them.
"I can't say too much for fear of unauthorized ears catching word which is why I request the family's presence at the grand council meeting." I looked up again, meeting the Baron and Baroness's gazes briefly.
"I'm sure you've heard a snippet of what my grandmother and grandfather have told you," I said.
Baron Hirom nodded, "We have... I have to say we were quite surprised they had the gull to come and apologize to us." He replied.
Baroness Dione huffed, crossing her arms over her chest, "It seems your words have finally reached the ears of the Plarinu elders... I must say I am impressed and warmed by the interaction, but that doesn't necessarily mean all is forgiven." She said.
