Here rests a daughter of the divine, the very essence you once scorned, destined to rise and triumph over all who dare oppose her.

"Achoo!"

"Just a few more moments, Your Majesty, and we will conclude this mana reversal session," Palace Mage Athenais assured me, her energy streaming to clear the remaining blockages swirling within my body. I waited patiently, familiar with the twinge of pain that accompanied such sessions; mana reversal syndrome was never pleasant, and I longed for its end. Despite nearing recovery, the palace mage needed to ensure proper mana flow not only for me but also for the baby growing within me.

"Achoo!"

The sneezes that punctuated the final stages were not only irritating but uncontrollable.

I sighed deeply. "I apologize; I can't seem to help it much," I said.

Athenais simply smiled. "That's alright, Your Majesty. The sneezing is simply your body expelling any excess mana. It will likely persist for several more days until it dissipates," She advised.

Right. That explained the soft shimmers emanating from my nose with each sneeze.

As Athenais finished, my body relaxed when the tugging sensation ceased within my core

As Athenais finished, my body relaxed when the tugging sensation ceased within my core. I sank onto the bedding, shutting my eyes as fatigue began to wash over me, a familiar end to these sessions. My mother, accustomed to the routine, rushed up to me with concern.

"Lavee, don't sleep now. You must have something to eat and drink!" She urged.

I groaned, peeking open an eye to look at her. "I'm not hungry," I replied. My appetite always vanished after these sessions; I had no desire for food.

"You cannot go without a meal. You haven't eaten since this morning!" She insisted. Misi, who had been monitoring my vitals during the session, sighed sympathetically and tended to me, advising, "You don't have to eat a large meal, but something light will do you well," As she used her magical gadgets to check other parts of my body, particularly my stomach. "You're at seven weeks if I might add," She informed me.

Recalling how far along I was in my pregnancy, I traced it back to the night Kiraz and I had indulged in Loscyan Blue Opal Nectar, barely remembering the evening prior. I could only assume it led to the conception of our child.

What a potent drink, I thought to myself.

"Then pick something light," I decided. My mother nodded, pleased with my choice. "But I won't guarantee that I'll eat it all, if any," I advised.

"Don't be so cynical, Lavee. I'll have the chef prepare something," she assured me before hurrying off to arrange a meal. I closed my eyes again, taking a few deep breaths. The hum of the pain relief SomaSphere at my bedside eased any discomfort I was feeling.
