In a world where everything seems perfectly logical and pragmatic. The thought of anything existing outside of the realm of what one already knows seems impractical.
That is how Melinda Morrison sees life.

Bunnizak, once a prosperous merchant driven by boundless ambition, sought insatiable wealth and power. She engaged in valuable dealings that led her to exploit natural resources for personal gain. In her greed, she brought forth a devastating drought that transformed her into the Shaitan of Greed, Bunnizak, dedicated to the mortal flaw of Greed.
Bunnizak can summon droughts that desiccate fertile lands, leaving crops withered and rivers barren. She thrives on the desperation of communities affected by her droughts, often forcing them into servitude to satisfy her insatiable desire for riches.
Bunnizak's appearance reflects her avaricious nature. Her form is emaciated, with skeletal hands clutching onto ill-gotten treasures. Her eyes gleam with an insidious glint, and her garments appear woven from shimmering mirages that whisper promises of boundless wealth.

"Resignation...?" I looked down at the sealed letter, unable to pull myself to pry it open and see the contents, if the Chancellor was stating that the subject matter was pertaining to him abdicating his position, who was I to further bring myself to the disappointing nature of this truth?
I thought for sure, Kayd would stay with Lavee and me a few more years; he was getting older and had already been through so much with my late Uncle, Arihel, and then my father, before ultimately stopping at me.
I only wondered if I had done anything to expedite his need to leave.
"Kayd... I don't understand, have I done something to offend you?" I inquired.
Immediately, I watched as Jodis's father's eyes lightened with surprise, he hurried to raise his hands in his defense, "Not at all, Your Majesty... in fact, this was something I had been planning to do since the former King Maurus was convicted and sentenced." He explained.
I deflated at his words. As expected.
Before there was much more said, the door to Lavania's dressing room had opened, Lavee herself stepped out looking a bit perplexed, her confusion grew further when she noted the Chancellor standing before me.
"You left and did not return." She said to me with a frown.
Was she upset that I was no longer sitting in the parlor watching her try on different dresses? After all, it was never in the plans for me to join, I simply snuck in and stayed because I wanted to spend more time with her. Mellie seemed to be visibly perturbed by my disappearance.
I cleared my throat and handed her the letter from Kayd. She looked down at it, "What is this?" She then looked over at the Chancellor, "It has your household stamp... which means it's official." She said.
