And then there were two.

"Honestly, if this is considered an extreme punishment... I simply wish to see what a heinous crime would get me." I muttered to myself indiscreetly as I watched the laundry maids scramble about the washroom located towards the edge of the state; I had never been here before, nor had a reason to since laundry was something that was constantly done on a daily basis and returned to our chambers fresh and clean without a peep...

Or so I thought.

I had been sent down here by my mother as punishment for running my mouth again during another eventful dinner time. I had disagreed with her on the topic of her chastising a young lady who decided to wear something a bit different in style from the current fashion of the women in the city during a recent garden party she threw. Lord forbid, I have a different opinion from the woman who birthed me; she immediately took offense and sent me to my room without allowing me to finish my dinner while telling me she has had it with my rampant opinions. She advised me that I would have a surprise waiting for me in the early morning.

And here it was. The surprise. I was to spend the majority of the day with the laundry maids cleaning the clothes of the estate so I could understand the "struggle" and possibly bend to her words in the future. Mother must have thought I was a fragile little girl whose current pampered lifestyle has never afforded her the capacity to think of doing manual labor.

I scoffed. If I had sleeves on the rather plain dress I wore today, I would have rolled them up and gotten right to work. Today, to avoid getting my nicer and more expensive garments sullied, I was put in a crepe-pink dress with silk underdress with frilly edges. It was still I'm sure, more on the costly side of dresses compared to what I'm sure the maids here made in several months, unfortunately.

And to think mother canceled my swordsmanship class to teach me a lesson, annoyed me heavily. I had ambitions to speak with Lord Fenrir a bit more now that the unsettled background information I had pestered Mr. Ennith about had come to light.

Now that plan was ruined! Especially when it felt as if I had to pull teeth to get the truth to come from his lips. He had me promise that I wouldn't reveal where I learned that information to mother and father before he even said anything which led me to believe this situation was far direr than I anticipated.

"Why is this such a secret? And why was it kept from my teachings and history lessons?" I pestered my already flustered instructor. I'm sure he found me to be a pain in the ass, like most teachers in my previous life, had; I wasn't the one to sit on my hands when I had a bountiful basket filled with questions stirring in my head. If no one answered them, I would find a way to find it out myself.

Mr. Ennith cleared his throat and propped his glasses up against his face and sighed deeply. "M'lady, why do you wish to have such information at your disposal?" He questioned me.
