Andrew

A green eye for envy, a green eye for jealousy.

"Is that uuoya (informal for sister-sis) over there?!!" I turned in the direction where Runnie was pointing and jumped up rapidly at the sight of Lavania being escorted by palace guards and servants toward the second prince's palace.

Instantly, my heart began hammering against my chest, pounding with ferocity once my eyes laid on Mellie. In just a short time, she had grown so much; even more so in this world, since her genetics played a great deal in how tall she was.

She was right at my level now with me just a few inches taller than her at this point. But what was most important was how lovely she looked; she was always a head-turner, but the twinkle in her youth she seemed to carry everywhere she went seemed to amplify more the older she got.

My God, I was still a sucker for her even after all these years; there was no way it would stop no matter how hard I tried.

"Uuoyxa! Uuoyxa can you see us over here!" My little sister called out eagerly. It was enough for Mellie whose head was turned in a completely different direction, to turn and smile once she noticed it was us.

The blow of her coily-curls trapped in between the silk of a ponytail swayed against the light cold wind of the air as she hurried over to where we stood. She was dressed in her normal combat-riding attire so I'd assume she'd be off doing some high-performance activity with Enos. I wasn't necessarily a fan of all the hanging they had done over the past couple of years but I saw how her eyes lit up at the thought of having another friend for herself.

I couldn't bear to rip her happiness from her for the bit of discomfort I felt whenever I was around my other brother

I couldn't bear to rip her happiness from her for the bit of discomfort I felt whenever I was around my other brother.

Melinda stopped just shy of where we stood and promptly curtsied and greeted us formally. "I greet your Highnesses the third Prince of Vesneau, Prince Kiraz, and her Highness the first princess Latona-Rune of Vesneau. May Sithik's light shine upon your blessed heads." She said.

It really irked me at times that she had to be formal with me around other people. I only remembered Mellie and I as normal people as we were in our old lives; nothing has changed since coming to this world so the change of statuses and having to treat it as such was such a bore for me.

Sometimes I just wanted her to jump in my arms and hug me like she always used to do when things like etiquette and nobility didn't exist.

"Lavee! Welcome to the palace again!" Latona jumped excitedly and reached to grab both of her hands, holding them tightly. "Are you going to be practicing your sparring?! I'm heading over to lessons with my instructor, might you join me?" She inquired.

I chuckled at her excitement. Even at ten years of age, Runnie too had grown quite some. Time had managed to pass so fast in this world even with the long months and days within those months compared to earth. Runnie and Mellie didn't always have the best of relationships; after Tychon's death, Latona clung onto me a lot in fear of losing me as she did our older brother so sometimes Mellie's presence bothered her in the sense that she felt she was taking me from her.
