In a world where everything seems perfectly logical and pragmatic. The thought of anything existing outside of the realm of what one already knows seems impractical.
That is how Melinda Morrison sees life.
The very life where she has shared nearly e...
"Akee, I hate for you to have found out about... us... like this." Brother cleared his throat in a nervous way, his entire pale face was brimmed with the color red as embarrassment was evident in his expression. I assumed for him it was very awkward for his younger brother to see him in this fashion. But I wasn't a kid, I was used to things like this.
It reminded me a bit of when Danny introduced me to the love of his life and eventually soon-to-be fiance Alondra. A beautiful brown-skinned woman with matching sparkling eyes; they both had met when they were studying in med school at John Hopkins. He was so angsty and nervous to introduce her to me; honestly, it was quite endearing that my brother thought highly of me and that his choice for a spouse should be consulted with me before going through marriage.
The same could be felt for me as I watched my brother flustered over his words as the young girl he was interested in cowered in a corner avoiding my glance whenever I attempted to look at her.
"I already said I'm not going to tell anyone about this." I reiterated when the silence had become deafening.
Tychon looked at me with a wide state before cutting a look over at his lover. She met his eyes with worry. He sighed deeply and walked over, taking her hand as he ushered her over to me again.

"This is Elisavbeti..Betti for short. I'm in love with her, akeo. I'd like to formally introduce her to you." He said to me sincerely.
I focused my gaze once more on the young teen girl and smiled kindly. I'm sure she was scared out of her mind having been caught with the crown prince; this world was harsh to commoners but she need not worry with me. If my brother was in love with her and wanted to be with her, who was I to stop him?
It was the tribulations of having to deal with the noble party as the future king of this country that would cause him issues and what I was the most worried about.
I reached over and took Miss Elisavbeti's hand and kissed it appropriately, fixing two pecks at the corner of her knuckles as per the standard of Vesnesian etiquette.
The young Elisavbeti was startled by the action and rushed to stop me from doing so, but it was already too late, "Your Highness, Prince Kiraz, you mustn't do that!" She informed me.
"Why not?" I shrugged as I shoved my hands into the pockets of my trousers.
She shook her head back and forth, completely alarmed and frazzled, "I'm not a high-born lady and you are a prince kissing the hand of a commoner it is not appropriate." She explained to me.
I frowned, "But you are the one my brother says he loves, no?" I asked.
She stuttered, "Well...uh... yes, your highness." She replied.
