KATIE

I don't like this.

On our way back, Ken and I saw the building under siege. Then, suddenly, as if by command, the creatures backed away. By the time Ken and I were at the dorm it was decimated.

"looks like the griffies left some decorations," Ken smiles and lifts his hood over his shaggy blonde hair. His hand is still wrapped in a fist that sparks.

Limbs are littering the ground along with a profuse amount of cherry red blood deepening to a lipstick red when in thicker puddles. There's the sound of a blast from a gun.

"You did this on purpose, didn't you?" Ima croons. She's walking towards me.

"Thought we'd all get slaughtered, didn't you? Thought you could take my crown, didn't you? Well, joke's on you! I'm still here, the score on your suit is lower than mine too, kill joy," she spits at me.

My back sears.

There's no point in defending myself. She'll think it was me anyway. I roll my eyes and keep walking. The crystal has to be protected at all times. If I was on the opposing side this would be when I would hit our building.

"Are you ignoring your boss now?" Ima continues chortling.

I keep walking.

There's another shot from a gun.

"She's talking to you," it's one of Ima's cronies from last year. I sigh.

"I just wanted to check on the crystal, if I was attacking, it would be now," I say through gritted teeth.

She looks at me and then at Ken.

"And what are you doing here?" Her teeth are clenched.

"The traitor's with me," I smile.

"Of course, your both treacherous disgraces to us, so it makes sense you'd band together, lick each other's wounds if you will. Speaking of which, yours look great? It is a pity you can still stand, didn't think anyone would find you if we buried you somewhere alive with your new tattoos, maybe then you'd know not to ignore when the boss is talking to you," Ima looks venomous.

Crack.

Somewhere a wooden board just broke. I begin racing towards the hallway.

"Guess they didn't do a good enough job," I hear Ima charge towards me with her cronies but then I don't anymore. I turn around to watch Ken snap her neck. I hear a crunch and turn back around. He surprisingly uses his powers less than I thought he would.

We make our way down the hallway slowly. Ever so slowly until we make it to the crystal room. Inside of it is a group of people, but there is one who is clearly the leader.

"I wanted to introduce myself," I blink as the girl begins talking. "I'm Tigris, and I will not let you overtake me," She purrs as she points her hand at the door. The door lifts off it's hinges and disappears into her hand. With a jolt of shock I realize Ken is behind the door.

It's too late by the time I hear his screams. She laughs.

"Oddly enough, it's much harder to kill those with void overflow, I'm shocked you've lived so long," he doesn't stop screaming for a long time. And then she turns on me.

"Don't worry, I won't gloat too much about winning level one," she looks at me and snatches the crystal.

The second the crystal is in her hand the block underneath it begins blinking red. It's the only light in the room so every time it blinks everyone disappears into the darkness with it.
