tigris gives a speech directed at her own team. "you know, we can't win if we're not working together. thanks for the first loss in two decades nincompoops. i'm so sorry you all had to hear me be strict with my subbordinates but it is what it is. they deserve all of the resentment the audience feels. they are pathetic worms who will grovel at my feet when i come out on top," she hisses more like a viper than a cat this time. she has finally extended her venomous fangs for everyone to see. her eyes are no longer white and hazel they are two black holes in her face and there are pits forming in her palms now. life devouring pits. immediately the speaker tries to calm her down. it takes a while but after a few moments she does in deed.
and then in a calm purr she states,
"i'll save it for next time then, but if i find out who started this revolt inside my team, i will make you pay."my eyes shift towards kassie who looks white as a sheet. she's never had a strong constitution. she looks thinner even though its only been days since i've seen her. she looks stressed. withered in a way. it's spooky.
and then after she's done going up to the platform and being chastised for running away from the fight, she shrivels into the seat next to me.
"how did she do it?" it takes me a moment to realize kassie is hissing at me.
"she lured us to her base and then came in through the roof to take the crystal," i clarify. she smiles.
"good thing i've got a new army now and it's bigger and more skilled than hers," kassie smiles. it's not a happy smile though. it is a resentful angry smile that does not meet her eyes.
"where?" i begin by asking.
"under water and inside the trees," she smiles, slightly looking deranged. her whole appearance looks somewhat off kilter. and then her eyes are fixed back onto the stats of the upcoming students.
"we need more soldiers on our side," she mutters to me. "let me know if you find anyone useful," and she notes down a name into her watch. i gulp and look towards the stage but everyone seems the same. they're not as strong as kassie and i.
"what do we need them for?" i ask deploringly.
"the more allies, the higher the odds that i become head of council," and that same wretched smile curls the lips upward.
