kassie has been gone for a lot longer than i anticipate. i think the same is registering for kally. this means that we will have to execute a plan that will end in her victory. no matter what, kassie has to gain some sort of acclaim. the more, the merrier. this is our chance.
from what kally and i have assessed there is a small group searching for us currently along with other groups that are currently spying out the opposing team's territory. honestly i vote we avoid them but kally has other ideas.
she's going to hunt them. it starts with luring them towards us out in the woods. we are a little ways off from the base hidden among the trees. the small group of straggly young adults weaves through the trees. i feel them rather than see them, see the absence of them behind their shadows.
and then she asks me to put down ice. slowly as they approach the clearing she fills it with steam from the fire and ice. it forms a thick fog to get lost in. i see the shadows weave nearer. i hear the chuckles.
then a ring of fire erupts around them. there's a scramble to put the flames out before they can suffocate. one such soldier uses vines to snake around the flames and choke them out. by the time the flames have been tamed the entire floor is transformed into ice. slipping and sliding there is a mad dash towards the trees for cover and support. kally uses the confusion to set several of them on fire. some of them roll out the flames with minor injury and others are still flailing on the ground being consumed.
a cage of vines encircle slowly, the leaves breaking through the icy ground. i feel strong thorned vines latch around my left leg. against my will my leg is being dragged away from me. the more i pull against it the more the thorns dig into my flesh. i inhale sharply as i watch thorns penetrate my legs all the way through. my leg won't move no matter how much i fight it. there must be a paralyzing toxin on the thorns.
quickly i touch the course vine and freeze it. i feel the long splicing needles freeze in my leg. i take a deep breath and break free just in time to not lose my leg entirely.
