there's one problem with the catacombs. no one knows where it is except the creatures. and only one alasian has talked to the creatures in the past two decades. terrence and i decide if we want to find out the past we need our other members. terrence volunteers to find kassie while i volunteer to find Luke. i agree promptly and the search begins.

at first i'm not concerned.

but then thirty minutes passes. i've looked everywhere and asked everyone he works with. the most i've gotten is that members of the guard came to see him but that doesn't make sense for during the game. unless. but no way.

i think through the likely places to store bulky objects that need energy. that need a lot of energy. towards the back of the base there is a fourth building dedicated to storage im guessing. i race through the space and end up nearing it just in time. there is a group of soldiers filing out of the building and they have bright green uniforms. the guard.

the moment that the coast seems clear i make my way towards the building. the closer i get the more worry some it is. it sounds very silent. my heart races too fast. i step through the door. i step through another door. another door. another. my throat is dry and it has a lump in it. what is wrong? where is he? where is he? around level three is when i start saying it out loud.

"luke. luke are you okay?" if my enemy is anywhere near me my death is neigh but if not then maybe he'll hear me.

there's a scuffle of foot tread. then there is a glob of soldiers before me. my flames erupt in both hands and that's when they extend their hands. when they extend them and one steps out in front of the rest. he has red hair and freckles all over.

"so what do you need with luke? he's got business with us right now," he growls. i gulp.

"i was just checking in. he's a friend of mine," i smile.

"then you're wasting the time you should be using to beat the other team. is that how y'all lost the last level?" there's a cold grin expanding on his face.

he steps forward and i throw a ball of fire at him. he grins and then i watch in horror as bands of some sort of metal shoot from his hands towards the flame. the metal heats up, and forms a glob on the ground. not close enough to touch him.

"you're not good enough to duel me yet, but maybe one day soon," and then i am escorted out of the building, still missing luke.
