the history books indicate that tigris only has one parent. this parent is the mother who is one of the descendants of the originals. apparently her husband left her baby and all when the war started. no one knows where he is now. my thoughts linger towards helping victoria. but what is he helping her do? it is clear that katie has no contact with her family so it is odd to think others wouldn't either.
i sigh as i make my way to class. this have been heating up in classes. the second half of the game will decide the winner of the game. this outcome will provide a bank of jobs on the other side of education. hopefully a job that pays enough for the family to settle in the center of the capital.
over and over again like a drill the professors talk about our futures. they tell us everything is decided by our hardwork and abilities. they say we will turn out bad if we do not serve the community after college. the message is complex.
on one side there is the urge to make money and live as if the war did not exist and then train all of the kids in the ways to murder the darn things. it's messed up. why leave it to the kids to fix something the grown ups started? my fists are clenching tightly around the desk.
"terrence, where do you see yourself in ten years," the teacher smiles at me as if this were the winning hand.
"no where," i state bluntly. it's true. i don't picture anything past avenging my fathers death. i've never been one for complicated answers. i may be a deep thinker but that means i deeply think about the simple answer and hopefully in turn, the simple answer rewards me.
the rest of the classroom goes quiet and then the laughing starts. it's a cold chortle. the strong don't look on those exhibiting weakness well. they are no better than hyenas looking for their moment to rip me into shreds. i'm supposed to be stronger. i'm supposed to be getting stronger for kassie so why does my future scare the life out of me?
i know how much alasia has given to me but it took away my dad. and if it took away him it will have to take away me next.
