The shuttle ride feels longer than usual. The looping planes and bunches of trees loom from everywhere I can see. The windows become filled with foliage, and then fields and then foliage. Wherever we are going is definitely off the beaten path. There's a fog that creeps over the windows. Soon we are surrounded in it, stretching as far as the eye can see (which is not much). When the shuttle finally stops no one immediately wants to get out. Everyone sits looking out into the dark and dense fog. Whatever is looming outside of sight cannot be good.

"You may now exit," comes the disembodied voice of the shuttle. Two individuals pass by me now, streaming to the front. To my surprise I rocognize them as Katie and Ken. Taking their lead, I make my way out of the shuttle into the thick plumes of fog. I can barely see my hands in front of me. Slowly I hear others making their way out of the shuttle. Surprisingly, Tigris stands next to me. Because of the thick fog, she appears out of the mist like a ghost.

"Hey, when you find out Kassie's not as good of a person as she thinks she is, come join my team. You and I want the same thing, I know that now," and then just as quickly as she appears she vanishes.

I continue walking through the fog, slowly immersing myself among the trees I can barely see. The light is swallowed in the darkness, and not even night brights are helpful. There is a two foot range I can see around me and that is all.

Slowly I make my way towards our new base, and immediately gulp. There's a small box with a door on it leading underground. I'm not the only one staring at the strange conundrum either. There is a small group forming around the door, expectantly waiting to go inside. Finally someone opens the door and I watch their bodies disappear down the tunnel and into the caverns below.

It reminds me of the room we trained in last year at Crystal high which only makes me miss it more. This place is cold and calculating. There are panel boards along the walls with different controls, and rooms whose doors aren't visible to the naked eye. I'm not the only one that looks uncomfortable either. It feels like a giant trap set in wait for us. I watch the technicians flood into the control room towards the many panels on the wall. I see the med bay head far down the hall and into the last room visible. At least there's no fog down here.
