the wall is down and tigris is planning her attack on the other team. she calls me to command the minute the wall goes down.
"during the attack of the cannaries you fought valiantly and acquired a large amount of points. i do not know what other to interpret it as other than you would like to be in the upper divisions of this team. i have already told you how much i agree with you joining and encourage this. i want you helping in command and deploying with us when we conquer," tigris purrs. i gulp. i guess this is that moment. the moment to decide. for the final stance to be taken.
"nah. i want kassie in the boss' seat more than you, and the minute i have enough points, we're challenging your authority," i smile wryly. the look on her face is priceless. she looks beyond angry.
"well, i guess there's no preventing it then," she nods at the others near her. i freeze the ground, causing them to slip and fall. tigris growls and pulls out her hover board. jumping on top of it to come after me. i race back through the door and thaw ice it shut.
i gulp as i pull out my own board and make my way towards the exit. i need to use this time to build up my death count not get slaughtered. i can fill kassie in on our plan to take over later.
i can hear the crash of ice as tigris roars after me. it makes me giggle. i knew she'd be mad but this is way better than my expectations.
that is until she catches up to me.
i guess catching up to me isn't the right word. she stands at the doorway to the base and uses her void abilities. i feel the pull before i see the cause. turning around a small black dot is held in her hand. only the darkness seems to expand as she pulls me closer. it feels like i'm a crumb on a rug being pulled into the ceaseless depths of the vacuum cleaner.
most of my fights up until this point have felt very easy. it's always felt fairly easy but this. i've never felt so powerless in my entire life. i scream as i get closer to the horizon of the black hole. everything in me feels like it is being crushed under the weight of some invisible force. i'm being skinned without my skin coming off. i'm being pulled apart at the same time as i'm pressed together. pain is beyond this feeling. this eternal burn.
and i die again—
