i'm not going to lie. this was a crazy plan. and i know, coming from me, that's saying a lot. i just hadn't expected her to be so brutal.

sliding myself into the walls of jaden university base i begin the arduous task of shutting down their system. she has me start with the floor she begins on. but that's not the only thing.

seconds before she asked me how to overwhelm the power in the building. electricity does not work the same in alasia as it does in the other world. most times when a system is overwhelmed too much power will be drawn out and then the system will go dark to isolate where the power draw is coming from, and then the machinery kills the culprit

alasia has always been a living beast. veins filled with blistering power running this way and that. overpowered and overwhelming. a being sentient as the rest of us, without anyone to talk to.

katie decided to flood the system with her power. overwhelm it to the other fullest extent of its' abilities. as the one helping the transfer of energy i can already see the system pulse like a heart.

and then just like when too much power is being drawn out, the system shuts down. there's only one difference. the world didn't kill her.

"katie, what did you just do?" i can't help it. even if we don't have the time to spare.

"i fed it," and then she pushes herself towards the building now experiencing a black out. she orders me to come through behind her. if anything happens, she will protect me. sliding into the wall i watch her. with every one she kills i see pain blossom on her face.

katie never wanted to kill. katie never wanted to lead. the worst part is she's good. there's a reason she was chosen by fate. and slowly but surely floor by floor she hunts the crystal.

now you may be wondering where my compadre is. you know the one I can't remember the name of. this is the first time we're not together.

like pulling apart sinews of raw meat she pulls apart the technician team. spread throughout the building she warns each of us to slowly pull down the security.

and with a shiver i know what she's doing. she's building unbridled panic.
