they flood in from all directions. i see them coming on the monitors. i smile as i click the button. crystal after crystal appears in each floor. i smile. this is actually quite fun. the mix of confusion and terror as they find yet another dud. by then they're trapped. and we can kill them off easy. of course they sent a few members towards katie but that won't be too hard for her.
in the meantime i get to be the distraction. and with a mix of elation and joy i am that distraction. and it's all going great until i hear the creatures. i gulp.
i hear the ear splitting cry of a cannery. i feel the rumbling from the griffy. and i know the clawing and screeching of the menta.
they cascade down on us like a flurry. i gulp as i deploy all of the hologram creatures. on the monitor i see kassie. she looks nothing like she did in the past. her body has perfect posture along with her hair. she looks majestic. almost unrecognizable. massive amounts of creatures are lobbed at us. i just lob more mechanical ones back. it feels like some messed up version of chess. i guess all of those years my dad forced me to play against him weren't for nothing. this is my moment to outchess the creatures and apparently kassie.
slowly she grows in the frame. she is not heading towards the big building though. she's heading straight towards the smaller ones. they must have informed her about the fakes. so then where is she heading? and with a horrible feeling in my stomach i realize where she's headed. she's headed towards katie.
before i can think twice about it i'm shooting the mechanical creatures at them. i'm calling in troops to back her up, which we still don't have a lot of by the way. my heart thrums loudly in my ears as i try to stay calm. and then it happens.
a flicker and then the mechanical creatures disappear.
what?
what?
what?
