one by one i pry information out of them. one by one they sacrifice crucial facts about what's really going on. there's rumors surrounding tigris. apparently she looks like someone on the council. the only question being who the mother is. there are a few candidates and among them is one i find interesting. Veronica, but because the child was born out of wedlock it wont be viewed well by the public. she might have covered it up. of course there are other options but i'd rather lop off the head of the beast before digging around in its feces.
the conclusion brings me to my next conclusion. my next question, is kally on my side and what does she know that she's not telling me? the whole thing is a pain.
what's worse, kally is looking for me. several others told me she has been searching all over. i only know what i saw, and the words of my father skitter around in my head.
look for history as it is not as you want it to be.
i sigh and progress down another lengthy hallway.
level 5.
i hear it before i see it.
a hum buzzing louder than anything i've ever heard before. it grows like a tumor. i begin to hear the others frantically moving around. and then there's a pop and the power in the building turns off.
a million red eyes look around, blazing in the darkness for the source. for the problem. that's when i see the first one. ravenous glowing blue eyes coming out from the darkness, bearing down on the base.
it's a knife. i can see it glint against the combined luminescence of red and blue eyes. the kid doesn't see it coming. i freeze the floor. caught of guard several red eye and blue fall. others stay up though, others keep fighting. the kid with the knife jams it into his opponent. the dark red liquid spills like wine.
and then the lights come on.
horror is all i can think of as i look up. one by one they drop from the ceiling like big ugly spiders come to slaughter us.
"terrence!" the voice belongs to none other than tigris. suddenly i feel a hand around my elbow and then suddenly her hand extends and i feel the pull.
chunks of alasians are pulled towards her. chunks of the room fastened to her by her unavoidable gravity. and then i see the hilt. before anyone can do anything someone has stabbed tigris in the back. i turn around suprised by the silent entrance jsut lokg enough to register blonde hair and burning blue eyes. it's katie. and then she chops off my head in one fluid motion. she doesn't smile. in fact if anything the action visibly causes her pain.
as i feel the life leaving me a wave of electricity shatters through the ground and that distant hum bleeds out like a pumping organ.
