Shadow: Long ago, the desert-like region of Shurima was under attack by the Void.

Zero: AKA your everyday attack from monster bugs from another dimension.

Shadow: To fight against these horrors, the Sun Disc was used to create the perfect god warriors - the Ascended.

Zero: Which would be that simple if shit didn't go down hill.

Shadow: Some were corrupted, becoming the Darkin. Among these Darkin, was Rhaast.

Zero: These Darkin were some of the nastiest chumps to roam Runeterra, committing mass murder, possessing others, and destroying entire constellations!

Shadow: Fortunately, the Aspect of Twilight sealed away the idea of the 6 remaining Darkin's representation and trapped them into weapons. As for Rhaast, he was trapped away in a scythe, never to be seen again.

Zero: Yeah because it's not like someone is going to pick it up later... Oh wait that did happen.

Shadow: This was a man who sought out only power and was willing to get it by any means necessary. His name was Shieda Kayn.

Zero: Kayn was born in Noxus where he was trained to become a child soldier from the very start. Too bad his home got invaded by a another country shocker.

Shadow: Kayn was expected to die in this invasion but his willpower, determination, and ambition somehow helped him survive showing no fear.

Zero: And with a simple sword and a sickle he proceeded to head to the town that invaded him in the first place and slaughtered ever last one.

Shadow: Word of Kayn's actions spread like Wildfire and encountered a man named Zed who took him in the Order of the Shadow where he trained to get stronger for years to come.

Zero: Kayn proved to be one hell of a gangster mastering every weapon they have at his disposal so much so that Kayn doesn't even wear armor and instead is his own weapon.

Shadow: But that wasn't enough for Kayn after hearing word of the Darkin Scythe being unearthed on Noxian grounds surfaced, Kayn was the first to take it.

Zero: Now you would think a normal person would know the risk and not take it especially since it houses one of the most dangerous beings in the world but nope Kayn doesn't give a shit.

Shadow: Instead he sought to use the weapon as his own and vows one day to overthrow the demon Rhaast and claim the Darkin Scythe as his own.

Zero: And Kayn is a really cool beast with it. He can do all kinds of several slashes dealing dozens of enemies and then some.

Shadow: Kayn can also wield magic which allows him to use Shadow Step, teleportation, healing and so on.

Zero: You know honestly I never expected the dark persona to take a form of a weapon.
