"You got rope?" John B asked, doing his little check list.
"Got it" Pope nodded.
"Grappling hook?" John B asks
"We're not Batman" I said, giving him a look.
"Pulley?" John B asks
"Check" Kie answered.
"Dark Clothes?" John B asks
"Check" I nodded
"Flashlights?" John B asks
"Check" JJ says, already clicking his on and off like a child.
"All right good. We're ready" John B nodded
"Let's go" Kie says
"Let's go get rich guys" JJ added
"Let's go boys" Sarah said
"And girls" Kie corrected without missing a beat.
John b opened the van door dramatically, like he expected theme music to play.
"Let's go" Pope said
"Let's roll" JJ added
"Right on" Kie chimed in.
We started walking until john b suddenly stopped, turning around with that stupid soft eyed look he gets only when he means something.
"Wait wait. I wanna say thank you guys. Seriously. It means a lot to me that you're here tonight." He says
My heart tugged a little.
"Always John b" I said
"Of course man" Pope said, doing their little handshake.
"My man." John b smiled
JJ rolled his eyes.
"All right we done with the circle jerk? Can we go do this?" He asks
"Let's get that wheat in the water" Pope said
"Weed? I'm up for weed" JJ perked up.
"He said wheat, dumbass" I said
We headed toward the house- until the porch light blasted on.
"Shit!" I hissed as we all stumbled backyard.
"Oh shit! Go go go go" John B whisper yelled.
We dove into the bushes.
"Flashlights!" Kie said.
"It's on strobe!" JJ whisper yelled like that mattered.
"Shh!" John b hissed.
"Okay... Okay so she has motion sensor lights"
Pope whispered.
"We could uh... move really slowly maybe?" JJ suggested.
"What?!" Sarah stared at him.
"Yeah that's not how it works" Pope said
