"Ok so looking at the schematics of the ship, it'll probably be best for you to enter in around here." Pope tells me "Ok got it" I nod "Genrette wasn't kidding about this stash. Look, I'm the captains log there's a secret compartment. Right here behind the headboard in the captains quarters" pope shows us "Are we still talking about this?" John b asks "Yep" JJ nods "The ships been down there for 300 years. It's been salvaged, we know that" John b says "Come on not gonna hurt to check." Cleo shrugs "Yeah it feels right. And also you know where it is, it's right in this area." JJ says showing a map "Except we don't know exactly where it is" John b tells him "What about the Coast guard? I bet they know where it is. Plus I've heard coasties are quite chill, so we could probably just ask them" JJ says
"Wait pope isn't your uncle in the Coast Guard? Uncle Roger's?" John b asks "My uncle Roger's? No no no no that's not gonna work. My uncle Roger is the most strait-laced, by-the-books person in the history of the world. It's not gonna happen" pope tells us "More straight-laced than you?" I ask him "First, I didn't graduate high school. I had to get a GED. That's... that's pretty lossey-gossey" pope says
"So other options... wait JJ isn't your uh your friend in the Coast Guard? Boggie?" Pope asks "Oh boy" John b mumbles "Boogs? He's in the reverses bro." JJ says "Yeah but he'd probably know" pope says "That's not what I'm saying. He's a marina rat. Living paycheck to paycheck. So if we're gonna get any intel out of him, he's gonna need yo be bribed. Which look I'm totally with doing, it's just..." JJ says "No" John b and I both say "All right. There's your answer right there" he says
"So in my mind I'm like the best case scenario is if I had an uncle who knew where the wreck was, would maybe tell us for free. Oh that's right you do. So that should be our first stop." JJ says "You're not listening. I dropped a cracker in that man's garage one time, and he made me clean the whole thing. He is not the person who will give out classified information. He's just not." Pope says "Not with that attitude" cleo says "Dude. Your uncle might literally know where it's at. He might even tell us for free, but you just gotta try" JJ says walking over to him as I just look at John b "No I..I don't think you're listening" pope says "He could say yes" kie shrugs "Also I thought all Pogues were all team players here so..." JJ says wrapping his arm around him "No" pope says "Not even a single woogity?" I ask "Whatever happened to Pogues for life?" John b asks "Absolutely not" pope says "Take one for the team pope" cleo says "That's it I'm done I'm not asking him" pope tells us
Now we all stood at the van as pope was asking his uncle. Which was dressed in his all white uniform. I doubt this is gonna go the way we want.
"What happened?" Cleo asks as pope walks up "I don't think he's gonna look at me the same way again. Great" pope says "Don't take it too hard pope. He probably gave up on you a long time ago" cleo says as he gets in the van "Plan B?" John b asks to JJ "Let's find boogie" JJ smirks driving off on his motorcycle and us in the van
"No we don't I'm so sorry. Thank you so much for calling. All right have a good one." I tell the person on the phone before hanging up "Your receipt." I say handing it to the man "Thank you" he nods "Come back anytime! Expect when the surfs good" I smile
"Smell that?" Cleo asks as I turn back around to her "Moneyyyy" she smiles "Moneyyyy" I smile back
I turn back around seeing someone was walking up. "Hello" I smile "Good afternoon ladies. Yall remember me?" He asks and I realize it's the guy from the auction "How could we forget?" Cleo asks "I like that accent. Welcome to our country" he says making me mad "How can we help you?" I ask him "I've got something for you here" he says giving me a piece of paper "You shouldn't have" I smile at him "I can take this place off your hands at any time. For a fair price." He says "I don't think that's necessary. But can we offer you a keychain? Maybe a glass bong, a pipe? You look like you need one." I tell him "You know yall are gonna lose this place. You might as well sell now. And you have a safe travels back to your homeland" he says to cleo
"Oh sir wait!" I say and he turns back around "I forgot we've been giving this to some people who come into the shop for free." I say reaching down and grabbing this gift sack. I reach down into it "Here you go" I say and bring my hand back out to show the middle finger as the gift, while giving him a sweet smile. He just rolls his eyes before walking off.
Once he does I pick up the paper and look at it. "What is it?" Cleo asks "One second. Shit." I mumble giving it to her "My dad used to do that all the time. It's changing the zoning. It's a way to force owners out of their property" I tell her "Is that legal?" Cleo asks "If you have enough money to do it. We're gonna need a lot more than $5,000" I tell her
"Ella hey" JJ says walking into the shop as I put a few things up "Yeah?" I ask "Um I'm going to dive with you" he tells me "What?" I ask turning to face him "Yeah I decided about uh...8 minutes ago." He tells me "JJ you don't even know how to dive" I tell him "Yes and no, it's easy you know. Plus if you're there you can just tell me what to do if I'm doing something wrong. Which I won't because it's easy but-" he starts to rant "JJ. Are you sure? I can do it myself" I tell him "I'm sure" he tells me "Ok fine, but you listen to what I say down there alright" I tell him "Yes ma'am" he salutes me before walking back out
John b runs down the dock with the gear and I quickly stop him. "Hey John b" I say "Hey" he smiles still walking "Wait wait wait. John b" I call out "What?" He asks and stops "You remember that kook that tried to outbid us at the auction?" I ask him "Yeah why? What's ... what's going on?" He asks me "He brought this by" I tell him showing the paper "They're changing our zoning. We might lose this place." I tell him "Shit. Does anybody else know?" he asks "Just cleo. Popes gonna freak when he finds out." I tell him "Hey hey hey" he says "I'm sorry I don't know. What are we gonna do?" I ask as he brings me into a hug
