Part 24

That next morning I had filled kie in about John b saying yes, and that we were planning on getting pregnant. I also filled John b in about how jj was my cousin. But John b and I had a great idea and kie was helping me get ready.

I walk out the door with a small white dress on, and part of my hair pinned back. I look up at John b and smile.
"Let's make this quick. All right? Gotta keep my head down." Jj says as John b starts to walk over to me
"Hey we're gonna get out of your hair actually. Give you guys some space." John b says and grabs my hand
"Yeah" I nod
"What?" Jj asks
"Yeah. You know, it's your dad. And...and it's your mom's grave. You should do this with him." I tell him
"So yall just bailing right now?" He asks
"No" I answer
"Not bailing. We're just multitasking" John b says
"We're running some errands. We'll be right back!  We have something to do!" I tell him as we walk off
"An errand? Right now? Are you kidding me guys? We could save pougelandia if we could just read-" Jj yells but John b puts his arm around me and we walk off

We ride on the boat until I spot cleo.
"There she is. Hey cleo!" I yell as we pull the boat in and she tied us up
"What's up guys?" She says as John b ties the other side
"Hey how's pope?" He asks
"They're dropping the charges." She says
"What?" I ask
"What? How?" John b asks
"If he joins the marines" she tells us
"Popes gonna join the marines?" I ask her
"Why didn't he tell us?" John b asks
"Can't talk to any of us. Part of the deal." Cleo says
"Look it's John b and Stella. They are the ones that started the riot, and they ruined downtown." We hear people say as they walk past us
"We should go" John b says
"Yeah" I agree
"Yeah you should go. Beat it Pogues." The people say as John b holds my hand and we all walk off

"What you two doing around here anyway?" Cleo asks
"Running errands" John b says
"Yeah errands" I nod
"Errands? In that dress? Right" cleo says

"You ready?" John b asks me as we walk
"I'm ready if you are" I smile
"I'll just hang back here" cleo tells us
"Ok" I nod
"Ok that's good" John b says
"Did you remember the rings?" I ask him
He makes a face because he forgot them then I hold up my hand showing it was on my finger then he does the same.
"You're funny" he tells me
"Oh I know thanks" I smirk

We walk up to the building but it was closed.
"It is closed?" John b asks
"You're kidding" I mumble
"Oh shit" John b mumbles
"No. No. What" I mumble reading the paper
"Thank you jj maybank" John b says
"The following services not offered until further notice. Marriage licenses" I read to John b
"I'm sorry" he tells me
"I really wanted to do it today" I groan
"I know I know hey listen. We'll come back and we'll do it right. I promise." He tells me holding my head
"I know. I just really wanted to do it today, before we have to flee you know" I tell him
"I know." He smiles then kisses my head

"Hey!" I hear someone yell and look over to see the whole kook crew coming our way
"They're trying to break in!" Ruthie yells
"Jj maybank! Where is jj maybank" kelce yells as they drive up in their truck
"Oh my God" I groan
They park the truck then get out walking towards us

"You guys wanna tell us where jj is?" He asks
"Now a baseball bat" John b mumbles as we start to walk off
"He's not here kelce" I tell him
"Ok here's what gonna happen. Nobody leaves until they tell us where jj is." Kelce says as he group agrees
"Jj just trashed the whole downtown. Where is he?" Ruthie asks
"I don't know" I tell her
"Listen let's just get out of here" John b tells me
"Yeah I'm great with that" I mumble and we try to walk off but kelce stops John b
"Whoa where are you going?" Kelce says putting a hand up to stop him
"Kelce." I say trying to stop him
"Listen just let us by. All right?" John b says and he lets us through

"Don't walk away. I'm talking to you" Ruthie says and shoves me in the back
"What did you say to me bitch?" I ask turning around and shoving her
"Whoa hey" John b says coming to my side
"Ok everybody relax" John b says then Ruthie shoves me harder and I fall down
"Oh my God Stella, hey hey." John b says bending down to help me
"It's ok." I tell him
"You ok?" He asks
"Yeah Im fine " I nod as he helps me up

"What the hells wrong with you?" John b asks
"What? Huh?" Kelce asks getting in John bs face
"These your people? You feel good about that?" John b asks him
"John b it's fine." I tell him getting everyone to look at me but I just look at Ruthie
"They're all probably mad because topper was hitting on me yesterday. I'm guessing he told you right Ruthie?" I ask her and she makes a face like she was confused
"Oh I guess he didn't tell you. He only looked me up and down and told me I looked good, but I mean that's nothing right?" I ask Ruthie sarcastically
"You little-" she starts to say but we hear something behind us

We turn back to see cleo slash one of their tires.
"Hey what are you doing?" Kelce yells
"Get back or I kill again! Three more tires. Scratch up this whole thing man." Cleo says
"Ok time to go" John b tells me and we take off running

All three of us quickly run off as they chase us down.
"Hurry up hurry up!" John b yells
We quickly run into a store trying to get away
"Left left left left" I tell John b
"What? All right" John b says listening to me
"This way. Go go go go go" I tell him
"Go here" I tell him as we open up one of the back doors. After we get inside John b closes and locks it.
"Oh my God" I mumble trying to open the other door
"Gotta get that door open" John b tells us holding the other door
"Come on" I mumble trying to open it as I hear all of them outside the door
"Come on get it open get it open" John b says
"We can't. It's locked" I tell him and just then I pull off the door knob
"What'd you do?" Cleo asks me
"I don't know" I answer
"Shit shit" she mumbles
"Shit. It's not opening what do we do? The doors broken and we can't get out" I tell John b
"Just in im trying" he mumbles but I go back to cleo trying to open it

I turn around when I see fire coming through the vent of the door by john b. He quickly jumps back avoiding it.
"Shit" cleo mumbles
"Out of the way. Watch out" John b says
John b starts to bang the door with his side
"Come on!" I yell and just then John b flys through the door. But pope had opened it from the other side.
"Hey you alright?" He asks helping John b up
"What are you doing here?" John b asks
"Cleo!"  I yell turning back to make sure she was coming
Cleo and pope both hug as John b and I block the door.
"Oh good idea" I say as John b brings some wood over.

I go over to them and they kiss right as I do.
"Oh ok come on lovebirds. Let's go" I tell them and start running again
"We gotta go" John b says as we all take off
