"Ok so what the hell happened?" John b asks us as we tied back up at the dock "Someone tried to kill us" I groan out "What? Why? That doesn't make sense" pope says "Obviously they were going after the same thing we were right?" John b asks "That amulet was worth something. That old man is keeping some secret" cleo says as I try to stay focus but I felt like I was dying
"Hey are you ok?" John b asks me as he saw I was in pain Then it hit me. "Shit. John b." I groan out trying to talk "The bends" I manage to tell him "Did you take your safety stop?" Pope asks JJ "I'm gonna say it one more time. Someone was trying to kill us" JJ says "No we didn't! We need to get to the hospital- now!" I yell out in pain "We need to go now!" Pope says as him and cleo help JJ up
"Nice and easy. You're ok, you've just got a couple bubbles in your blood" john b says as him and kie help me "No shit Sherlock" I groan out
"Come on John b" cleo hurry's him "I'm going" he says "Hey watch out watch out" pope warns "Deep breathes deep breathes. John b can you please go faster" kie says "Who was down there with you guys?" Pope asks "No idea pope. But you're not gonna believe this." I mumble giving kie the amulet wrapped in cloth. She starts to unwrap it "What is that?" Cleo asks "You found it?" Kie asks "Holy shit. That's the thing he was looking for?" Cleo asks "Holy shit holy shit. Why didn't you tell us sooner?" John b asks "I'm busy dying!" I yell "You're a rockstar girl" cleo tells me trying to help. They all say something else but I was too busy on trying to breathe to really listen.
After what felt like forever we finally got there. They all helped us out and once we got in the doctors took us in quickly. They put us inside this little circle thing with red lights. After a couple of minutes the pain started to ease slowly.
I look out the little window at John b. I give him a small smile, then I hold up my middle finger. He just laughs before mouthing to me. "I love you" he says "I love you too, we will be ok" I mouth back to him
After maybe 30 minutes just laying there the pain was a lot better. Barely even there anymore. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" JJ asks "We take a big fat nap then whenever we wake up play rock paper scissors then take another nap? Cause that's what I was thinking" I answer "Great minds think alike. Have a good fat nap Ella" JJ laughs "Thanks J, hope you have a good fat nap too" I laugh before falling asleep quickly
After what felt like the best and longest nap ever we woke up played a lot of rounds of rock paper scissors, then we went back to sleep.
I started to slowly wake up and I looked out the small window. A man was staring straight at us, and he had a big cut on his arm, the same place JJ had cut the man. And this was the guy that came by our shop and acted really weird. I made eye contact with him and quickly hit JJ. "JJ wake up! Now! That's him" I say as he gets up and looks over too "Shit" he mumbles
Once the doctor takes him away, we tried to think of a plan. "JJ we have to get out of here now" I tell him "Ma'am! Ma'am! Hey help!" JJ yells hitting the glass As he kept yelling and banging I tried to open the door. The lady came over but she wasn't understanding. She told us to breathe but then walked away.
"Ok ok I've got an idea, this is not my best idea." JJ says laying down putting his feet on the glass "Shit yeah no it's not. But hurry" I tell him "Kick it harder!" I yell at him and finally the glass breaks
He quickly climbs out of the window then opens the door for me. "I'm gonna buy us some time. Meet me outside" JJ says "What do you mean?" I try to ask him but he's already walking off He quickly starts to yell and shove people getting the attention on him. I hide behind the wall as the guy who tried to kill us was watching JJ. "I'm going to file a complaint. File a formal complaint" JJ says looking at me and I catch on "He wants a file" I mumble then take off
I walk normally through the hall way, I walk past a desk and see his file. I quickly grab it and run out the door. I see John b, kie, cleo, and pope all in the car and run over. "Where's JJ?" They ask as I jump in the back "JJ's coming. Drive go!" I tell pope he starts to drive and then JJ runs out jumping in the back as well
"Are you guys ok?" John b asks as we drive "Yeah. So you know that guy that was down at the wreck that tried to kill us?" JJ asks "He was there" I tell them "At the hospital with you?" Pope asks "Yeah" I nod "He was getting stitched up where I got him with the harpoon gun" JJ says "I got this. I swiped his file. It's got an address. Downtown Pelican somewhere" I tell them "What are we supposed to do with that?" Pope asks "What do you mean, pay him a visit. We found out who this goon is pope. Six against one? I think we could take him" JJ says "Or just get there first and just scope it out" kie says
"Ok fine let's go" pope mumbles "I'll be ready for him this time" JJ says "Nah nah nah. I'm not doing that today. Drop me off at the house, I'm done" I tell them "Actually we need to go get this amulet translated. Best to get it over with" john b tells me "Fine I'll do that, rather that than fight some dude" I shrug "Drop Stel and I off at the house, you guys do you're thing and we'll get this translated" john b tells pope
