Part 23

After that whole conversation I decided it was time to talk to John b. I walked into the room where John b was reading a book.
"Hey" I say as I close the door
"Holy shit. Hey come check this out. So there is actual historical basis on this Murad guy, the one who made the map." He tells me
"Yeah" I nod
"I mean, he was actual like an actual historical figure. We're closer than we think" he tells me
"Which is awesome but-" I start to say
"Jj's gonna have to leave. JJ's in a whole bunch of shit so like this map actually leads to Morocco, if we go with jj. Moroccos not a bad option-" he starts to tell me
"John b I need to talk to you" I say louder and he finally turns around looking at me
"And I told you it can't wait. So can we please. Just talk" I say
"Uh yeah yeah" he nods
"Ok" I say then go and sit down
"Come sit" I tell him which he listens and sits in front of me
"Hey" I smile holding out my hands which he grabs
"Hey" he whispers back looking at me
"Hey" I say again not knowing how to even start this conversation.

I try to take a few breaths trying to find words.
"Ok uh John b this is going to be a lot. And I just need you to listen ok?" I say
"Ok" he nods
"Um ok so, after I got shot. Something never felt fully right inside, I didn't know what it was but I could just feel it. So um after we got back from our whole adventure, I visited a family friend who's a doctor. She thankfully helped me for free but um. She told me- she told me the shot had messed up my process to get pregnant. And she told me if I ever you know did it, and I wasn't pregnant in the next few weeks, then I would have  about 3 maybe 4 months to try to get pregnant before I won't be able to at all.... And I don't know how that's even possible it doesn't make sense but something about where the bullet hit and how the guy took it out just limited by ability to get pregnant and I have a very short time period to try. And I'm so sorry I didn't tell you this when I found out but the whole gold situation happened and I just forgot about it and she said if it happened I'd get these side effects and I did and I just knew. I'm so sorry" I tell him letting a few years fall
"Star. Star look at me" he says and I lift my head
"You'll be ok. We'll be ok. Alright we will figure this out" he tells me

"I mean the timing though- I just- do you even want to have kids now?" I say stumbling on my words
"Stella. I understand ok, the timing not the greatest but look at me, I do. I want to have kids with you, and even if it's soon that this might have to happen that's ok. We'll be ok." He tells me and I let more tears fall
"Ok" I smile
"Yeah?" He says smiling
"Yeah" I nod

I quickly pull him into a tight hug and just hold him.
"So we're planning on having a baby. We're planning on getting pregnant" he says with a happy voice
"Yeah, I guess we are" I smile pulling back from the hug
"I'm gonna be a dad" he says in shock
"Yeah you are. I'm gonna be a mom" I say not believing it

After a few seconds of us just sitting there I look up at him.
"I'm really scared. What if I can't? What if it doesn't work? I mean we have to wait until this is all over and I just-" I say starting to ramble again
"You will. It will be ok star. Trust me. We're gonna be ok. Is there anything she said to do to help you?" He asks me
"Uh she basically said to treat it as if I'm already pregnant" I tell him
"Ok then let's do that. It'll be ok. I'll make sure it's ok." He tells me
"I love you" I smile
"I love you too" he smiles back and gives me a kiss then brings me into a tight hug again

"Does anyone else know?" He asks after a while
"Just kie. She found out after she saw the test" I tell him
"Ok, do you want to tell the rest?" He asks me
"Maybe let's wait on that. Just until it all calms down" I tell him
"Ok we'll wait" he smiles

"Oh also there's one other thing." I tell John b as we stand up
"Yeah?" He asks
"Jj is my cousin" I tell him
"What?!" He yells
