The other guys told Luke he didn't have to go to the interview today, but he wouldn't listen. He wanted to continue living his life as normally as possible. He knew it would be inevitable that the interviewer would bring you up, but he reassured his friends that he would be fine. The guys reluctantly let him go and the interview has gone well so far.

Then, the lady brings up their love lives and girls. She does the other three guys, so far so good. He was hoping he would be skipped because everybody in the world knows about what happened, but of course he doesn't get his wish. "And Luke, how are you doing lately?" the interviewer asks knowingly.

He takes a deep breath and says, "Just...taking it day by day."

The lady nods sympathetically saying, "Good, good. We all know these last few months have been hard for you, and the fans have been showing incredible support as well."

"Yeah, they're the best fans ever." Luke says with a half smile.

"So have you been spending a lot of time with Y/N's family?" the interviewer asks cautiously. A lump forms in Luke's throat at the mention of your name. You were his girlfriend, the love and light of his life, for six years. He was even planning on proposing to you within the next few months. He had the ring and everything.

He swallows hard before answering, "Yeah..it's been great to have people going through as much pain as I am, to be with. ...Her family is the best."

You see, a few months ago, you passed away. No one expected it. You weren't sick, you didn't commit suicide, it wasn't natural causes. One night you went to a party with some friends. You wanted Luke to come with you but he didn't want to, so he was going to pick you up afterwards. You were at the party for a few hours but it was only people getting drunk and high so you decided to leave early.

You called Luke to pick you up, but he was with the guys thinking he wouldn't have to get you for a while and he wanted to hang out with them. He told you to just get a ride home from one of your friends and that he would see you when he got home in a few hours. So you and your friends got in the car and started to head home. You were all talking and laughing having a good ride, but your friend that was driving decided to quickly check her phone.

The next thing anyone knew, a car smashed into the passenger side. Unfortunately, you were on that side, in the front, without a seat belt. Usually you never forget to wear it, but you were distracted that night. The impact caused you to bang your head against the car and you were knocked out unconscious, on contact. Everyone else had their seat belts on and the driver was cushioned by the airbag. The four of them walked away with some bruises, but you got the major blow of the hit seeing as the car hit your door.

The driver called 911 right away when they saw you weren't responding, and one of your other friends used your cellphone to call Luke. They listened and heard your heart beating, so you were still alive and there was still time to get you to a hospital and see about saving your life. Your friends talked to the person who hit you and the police came and a report was filled out, then finally the ambulance arrived so you were taken away on a stretcher.

When Luke got the call, he was in so much shock that the guys had to drive him to the hospital because he wasn't in a coherent enough state of mind to drive. What felt like forever later, the four guys arrived at the hospital and were directed to your room. As they approached, the doctor came out of your room and met them there. The look on his face said it all. Still, he told the four of them the sad truth that your head trauma was so severe that you weren't going to make it and that it was a matter of minutes.

Reading Luke's mind, the doctor opened the door and Luke ran in, rushing to your bed. He saw all the machines you were hooked up to including the heart monitor that was ever so slowly still beeping away, and he broke down that instant. He fell to his knees at your bedside and took your hand. Looking at you all wrapped up and with your head wrapped in bandages and bruised, to Luke your beauty still shined through and that made him cry even harder.

He began talking to you even though he knew you couldn't hear him. He said that he should have either gone to the party with you or picked you up when you asked him to. He said that he blames himself for you being dead soon and that he will never forgive himself and always regret the decisions he made that night. He ended with telling you that he was planning on proposing to you a few months later, that he had the ring and everything, and now he won't get to and it was all his fault. He then said he loved you more than anything in existence and always would.

Those were the final moments of your life and when he was finished talking, he knew that you could hear him after all. You were just too close to death to even move. You heard every word he said including the proposal he planned. He knew this, because when he was done, he saw tears appear in your eyes and roll down the sides of your face. That was the last thing you did before you flat lined. Once you did, he wiped away the tears that stained your cheeks and stood up to kiss your forehead before breaking down completely.

Moments later, hospital personnel came in and covered your body with a sheet. He said his last goodbye to you before leaving the room and joining the guys again. He sat in the waiting room with them and your friends and your parents who had shown up moments ago. They all sat there and cried, hugging each other. Even Michael, Calum, and Ashton cried. After all, you were like their sister since you and Luke were together for so long. It wasn't until 2am that they all finally left the hospital.

Three days later was your wake and funeral with your family and close friends, plus Luke and the guys. It was a short service, and because your body wasn't present due to the group decision for you to be cremated that day, Luke was okay for the majority of the time. It wasn't until the middle of the service when your current favorite song before your death was played in your honor, See You Again by Charlie Puth, that he started sobbing.

Listening to the lyrics made him get even more emotional and he fell forward off of his chair in tears. Michael, Calum, and Ashton helped him up and engulfed him in a group hug which Luke continued to cry in. After the funeral, Luke gave your parents the engagement ring he bought for you and told them to put it in the urn with your ashes, because he wouldn't ever give it to anyone else. It's rightful place was with you.

Now, it's a few months later, and Luke's view on that night hasn't changed. He still blames himself for you dying no matter how many times everyone tells him he shouldn't. Luke just relived that night in his head within a few seconds during the interview and he got a little choked up. "I bet you really miss her." the interviewer says with concern in her face.

Luke nods his head slowly and drops his head down as he lets a couple of sobs escape his lips. The guys all put a hand on his shoulder/back and he quickly stops himself. He thought he would be fine. You've been gone for a little while and life has kept going on without you there so he should too. But everybody, even the fans, know he's not that strong.

"I know this isn't a comfortable topic, so we won't talk too much more about it, but before we change the subject, I'm curious about something. Some people, when someone close to them passes, will see their loved one's ghost. Since you and Y/N were together for so long, has that happened to you at all since she's passed?" the interviewer asks. Despite Luke crying, he all of a sudden gets a full smile on his face.

He looks up and says to the lady, "As a matter of fact, it has. More than once actually. About a week after she died, I got to really thinking about her again and I had a total meltdown. I looked up and she was standing in front of me, looking at me with worry. Another time a month or so ago, I had another big breakdown and sure enough the next time I looked up, she was there. So I think that she appears to me whenever I'm crying, missing her."

After he says this, he looks towards the cameras and he gets the biggest smile on his face; the warmest feeling in his heart. The guys and the interviewer look in the direction he is, not sure what he's looking at. Then it seems to click with all of them at the same time. The interviewer says, "She's here right now, isn't she?" You smile and wink at the love and light of your life and he chuckles saying, "Yeah she is. And I think she always will be."

You nod your head at him and point to your heart. You then wave goodbye and blow him a kiss before vanishing. Luke looks back to the group and they all exchange looks before the interview continues on, Luke feeling better than he has in a while, knowing now that the warm feeling in his heart is you, and that it will never go away. Until I see you again...he seems to hear you whisper in his ear.

AN: Hi, all! I promise the other three imagines in this week's theme aren't this sad. I just got the idea and had to make a story out of it. Take care, lovelies! <3
