You Play His Instrument on Tour (Michael)

You're on tour with your boyfriend and his band and are having such a fun time. You've gotten to know the other guys pretty well and they think of you like a sister at this point. Also, little by little Michael has been teaching you how to play guitar. You've always wanted to learn to play but never had the discipline to stick with it. But Michael is tough and isn't letting you give up. You've learned all the basic chords and have learned some of 5SOS's songs too. He's really proud of you and proud himself for being an adequate teacher.

Today you're in the back lounge and he is trying to teach you another song. Today it's Rejects from their Don't Stop EP. It's actually not too hard and you're picking it up quickly. He's taught you the intro, verses, and the chorus so far and you're doing great. You're playing through it and he's smiling at you as you don't make a single mistake. You smile back and all of a sudden you hear something that doesn't sound quite right.

"Hey you made me mess up!" you say fake pouting.

"Ha sorry, baby girl. I'm just so proud of how far you've come. And in so little time. Here, try again from the chorus." he says. You nod and get positioned again. You play the first half and it goes fine, but then you hear the same thing not sound right and realize Michael didn't mess you up.

"What am I doing wrong?" you ask frustrated. He comes to you and sits in front of you looking at the guitar.

"Play it again." he says. You position again and start playing. He watches the guitar and your fingerings closely and when you get to the portion where you messed up he says, "Stop. Right there." pointing at your hand.

"What is it though? I'm doing what you told me to." you say confident in what you're doing.

"Your fingering isn't right. You're pressing the right strings but your fingers aren't in the right place." he says. You're really confused. You could've sworn that this is the way he showed you.

"But this is what you did when you played it." you say in defense.

"No, I said that your middle finger should be on the second fret, not the third." he says moving your finger.

"You did not say that the first time. I know what I heard." you say getting a little annoyed.

"You think I don't remember what I said?" he questions getting equally annoyed.

"Obviously not because you said third fret, not second." you retort.

"Obviously you didn't hear me right. Pay closer attention, Y/N." he says sternly. You've never heard Michael that serious before. It kind of scared you. He could see the look on your face which said it all.

He goes to hug you to make you feel better but you don't let him. "No, Mikey. Just leave me alone for a while. I wanna take a break." You stand up and leave the lounge to go to where the other guys are. You both needed to chill a little.

Mikey must be ticked that you pushed him away because you tried to talk to him a little later and finish learning Rejects, and he just ignored you. He went to his bunk and was on his phone and laptop all the way until soundcheck. Little did he know that while he was pouting, you were in the lounge getting your mistake fixed and teaching yourself the end of the song. You looked at the clock and saw it was time to leave for soundcheck. You decided to see if he would come for you.

You heard the door slide open when you finished nailing the whole song and it was indeed Michael coming to get you. "Hey it's time to leave."

"Okay. Are you ready to apologize?" you ask.

"Yeah...I'm sorry I was getting short with you. I just know the potential you have and I want you to be the best you can be. And I also don't want to let you down as your teacher." he says.
