Halloween! (Luke)

Walking out of Luke's house, it's too quiet. You're walking when, "Boo!" A voice shouts from behind you. You whip around to see Luke laughing.

You punch him in the arm saying, "Not funny, Lucas! You scared the shit out of me!" He just laughs harder while you both continue walking to his car to go to the store.

"Oh you know you love being scared as much as I do." he says opening your door. He was right. Halloween is your favorite holiday, his too. You always go all out with decorations, watch scary movies, go to haunted houses, and go to parties in couple costumes.

"Yeah, yeah. Just drive." He smirks before backing out of the driveway and heading into town. It's the day before Halloween so you're spending the afternoon doing your candy and costume shopping before trick or treating and the parties the next day. The decorating has already been done at both of your houses so that's all you have left to do.

"So what did you decide? Are we going as Mario and Peach tomorrow, or no?" you ask glancing over at Luke driving. He sighs, clearly still conflicted.

"Do I have to wear the mustache?" he counters.

"Yes! It's a Mario signature!" you answer for the hundredth time. That's been his one objection to the idea.

"But I don't want to, it's so itchy!" he whines. He stops at a red light and like a child throwing a tantrum, hits the steering wheel with both hands.

"Alright, calm down Lukey." That's the nickname you reserved for occasions like this. "How about you only wear it for pictures and the rest of the time you can take it off?" He ponders for a moment at this compromise. You're hoping he'll take it because you've had this idea for months and fell in love with it.

"I guess that can work. Either way we're gonna be the cutest couple there." He looks at you and smiles, placing his hand on your leg.

"You know it, baby." You smile up at him and lean over to kiss his cheek, but he moves at the last second making you kiss his lips instead. You both laugh when you hear a loud car horn behind you. You look forward to see the light has turned green. Luke's eyes widen as he quickly steps on the gas, speeding through the intersection, while you laugh hysterically in the seat beside him.

In a few more minutes you arrive at the store and make your way towards the candy aisle. You grab a few bags of assorted fun sized candies, the staple of trick or treating candy. Then you go over to the other section of candy and chocolate, grabbing a bunch of packages of Twizzlers. You turn around with your arms full to see Luke smirking at you.

"Don't look at me like that. I need some candy for myself too." You go to the chocolates and grab a few Hershey bars with almonds, Snickers, and Reeses.

"You do realize you're getting more than half of this stuff for you, right? Think of the children!" Luke jokes next to you grabbing some candies himself.

"Look who's talking! I see you getting some goodies too." you say getting on your tiptoes to hip bump him. He just chuckles as you finish up in the candy aisle and check out.

Your second and final stop is to the party store where they have every costume imaginable. But you're hoping there are still Mario and Peach sets left. You think it will be pretty popular with couples your age. You and Luke walk up and down every aisle searching for it, but with every one you get more discouraged.

You give up and decide to ask at the counter. "Excuse me, do you have any more Mario/Peach costume sets by chance?"

"I'm sorry, the last one was sold earlier this morning. But you could try the store a few blocks down." the cashier says. You thank him, and you and Luke head out to go to the other store.
