After having gotten Lori settled in the car with Sharon, Stevie and Lindsey decided to stay seated on the patio part of the bar that was outside so they could feel the nice summer breeze that evening.

As per usual, they stayed chatting and although she did most of the talking, he didn't mind because the sound of her voice always gave him a sense of ease.

"I know usually on Friday nights, you hang out with the girls to have fun... Are you having fun?"

"Not really," she shook her head. "Not even tonight are the drinks hitting and I've had about seven cocktails tonight and I mixed, but I'm real calm..." she smirked, picking up her eighth cocktail that night. "I'm just not ready to go home to my house..."

"You get to come home with me," he rubbed her knee.

"Yeah, but the sooner I go home with you, the sooner the next day comes and eventually, I end up at home..." she shrugged. "Anyways, speaking of your home, what were you doing on this side of town? This place is kind of out your way..."

"You're not wrong... Honestly, I came for a drink because your daughter stressed me out..."

"What?" she furrowed her brow.

"I guess her schedule for tonight changed and she dropped by my house and asked me to go to lunch... I took her to lunch, we talked a bit and I dropped her off at work, but I told her that we shouldn't pursue anything basically..." he shrugged.

She widened her eyes. "How did she take it?"

"She was... mad," he shrugged. "Maybe, hurt... I don't really know. I told her I didn't want to start any trouble since I'm back with girlfriend... She said she lived for trouble and she left..."

"Oh, but she does..." she sighed.

"When you were saying earlier that Robert was going to see Shannon at work, I figure she'll tell him and he'll tell you and if she doesn't tell him and tells you, I figure I should tell you what happened."

"I appreciate it," she nodded. "I feel bad..."

"Why?"

"I mean, she clearly likes you... There's no reason--"

"Stevie--"

"Lindsey, I'm just saying..."

"You said so yourself, Stevie... Robert wasn't happy about it, she's a kid. She's a few years younger than Kristen and that was reaching..." he rolled his eyes to himself.

"Oh, yeah..." she lifted her brow.

"What's the matter?" he wondered.

"Well, remember how that one girl came to join us? I told you the girl who bailed Rob out of jail, I invited her..."

"Yeah..." he nodded.

She smirked, resting her head in her hand as the thought came back to her. "It was Kristen that bailed him out..."

"What?" he nearly choked on his water. "What do you mean, it was Kristen? Are you sure?"

"K. Messner," she reached into her purse to pull the business card out. "She gave this to Robert the morning she bailed him out and he gave it to me because I probably wanted to thank her which I did, but obviously, I didn't know K stood for Kristen."

Lindsey couldn't deny her business card.

"I was anxious all day," she shook her head. "I had Jeffrey with me and she knows me as your boss or whatever else and I practically begged her not to mention she knew me in front of Jeff because that obviously extends to Shannon and the other kids knowing I know you... Even Robert. I mean, he knows we know each other, obviously, but somebody like Kristen bringing that info around..."
