While in the afterglow of their rather erotic endeavors, the two made it to his room where it would all continue, although, it still wasn't exactly late, so they were awake as their limbs tangled within the bed sheets, along with one another.

"I don't know why you fight me so hard, Stevie," he sighed, whispering into her hair as he pressed a kiss to her bare shoulder.

"I don't know why you would think this is the moment to bring it up," she huffed to herself, staring at the ceiling as he continued to roam her body. "Can't you just be happy? I'm here..."

"You act like it was some sort of major sacrifice," he retorted, pulling away from her in order to give her some room. "You needed to talk to me, you drank... Frankly, I blame the alcohol for you being so easy tonight, but come on... It's not as though you were doing it for me."

"Well, I wasn't doing it for me..." she argued. "Let me remind you that every time I come here, I'm making a sacrifice because I'm this close to my family finding out... One already knows, Lindsey, and I'm not gonna risk anybody else finding out."

"Then why'd you come here tonight? Don't tell me that bullshit about ending things, because obviously that ship has sailed, look where we are," he stated the obvious as he got out of bed in order to put some boxers back on.

She sat up and she pulled her knees into her chest, the sheet covering the entirety of her chest.

"You think I don't know the deal? One of the girls drops you here or you come by yourself and you tell your husband you spent the night at Sharon's... It's always Sharon's because Lori has a baby at home and you don't want your brother to know what's going on. I already know one of the girls was going to get you in the morning because you can't have me drop you off..."

"Lindsey--"

"Save it," he put his hands up. "Again, this is something you could have told Lori or Sharon to tell me and I'd have been fine with it because I know the situation. I know you can't call me from home, but you could have arranged for us to meet up. The only reason I called you yesterday was because I missed you---that was all. And like you did, I figured you'd easily bullshit your husband and say it was one of the girls."

Tears were at the brims of her eyes because as he spoke calmly yet sternly, she was taking in everything about him so avidly.

"You know every time you come over, this is where we end up..."

"You're right," she sniffled and she wiped her tears away. "The problem is I do love you and I don't want things to end between us, but I don't want it to end my marriage for the sake of my kids."

"I know," he came over and he sat next to her, on the edge of the bed, allowing his hand to rub her leg.

"Then why are you making me say it... If you know..."

" 'Cause you need to hear yourself," he assured.

"I'm sorry," she sighed, her voice hitching as her tears began to stream. "I'm so sorry," she shook her head, biting her bottom lip.

"It's okay," he dusted off her apology, bringing her in for a hug. While he embraced her, he kissed her forehead and lightly massaged her head with his fingertips.

She sniffled and moved upward, kissing his jaw and cheek, wrapping her hand around his neck as she hoisted herself up, semi straddling him.

He easily complied and he laid back to her touch---being with her was just so easy and although the outer effects of their affair hurt everybody, nothing compared to the moments they were together.

When the next morning arrived, the couple would be asleep though wrapped in one another's arms after coming to terms multiple times that night; they were exhausted.
