~ Weeks Later ~

When Stevie, Jessica and her boys arrived to Arizona, it was mid May, but by the time the fourth of July was coming around, Shannon and Robert would finally make their way for the sake of the holiday weekend and the rest of their paid vacation for the next weeks. Although they came to spend time with the rest of the family, Stevie would be on her way out for her tour by the 12th since her first show was in Los Angeles on the 14th to promote Street Angel.

Christopher and Lori would also make their way to Arizona to reconvene with their family and finally be with Jessica before the two of them made their way on tour with Stevie.

"What's the plan for tonight?" Jeffrey asked, slinging his arm around his grandmother and mother while he looked at his father and grandfather.

"Well, we could always go to dinner," Stevie suggested. "Lots of us to feed this first night, so let's make it easy."

"That's a good idea and tomorrow, you ladies can join me at the market and we can figure out what to do for the meantime until you leave," Barbara mentioned.

"Well, hey, I'm great in the kitchen," Shannon mentioned as she wrapped her arms around her grandfather. "With mom's lessons, grandma's baking and since the Food Network channel has started... I've put two and two together and I can help..."

"She is a very good cook and she knows how to cook in large quantities, between her father and these boys," Stevie smirked with wide eyes.

"That's wonderful," the older woman beamed.

"Meantime, Lori can't boil water so maybe Shannon should go instead," Christopher joked.

The redhead chucked Jessica's empty baby bottle at him.

"Now that wasn't very nice, dear," Barbara commented, laughing as she rubbed her daughter in-law's shoulder.

"Your son isn't very nice, mom," she assured.

"Did you guys spend your time fighting or what?" Robert asked. "I thought you were supposed to be relaxing and having a good time..."

"We did... You should see him when we're by ourselves. As soon as we get out into the open, he likes me a whole lot less," Lori replied.

"Sounds like somebody I know," he pumped his brow in his wife's direction.

"As though that were true," Stevie crossed her arms. "You just got here, are you already looking for trouble?" she wondered.

"I'm playing," he claimed, walking over in order to kiss her.

"Considering our vacations away from one another, I'd not go there if I were you... Playing around when we haven't exactly had the opportunity to chat first and see if we're able to play around like that."

"Whoa, babe, come on now..." he smirked, settling his hands to each of her shoulders. "You're so tense, relax... We'll talk, clearly you have something on your mind."

She listened, in fact, she took a deep breath to relieve some of the lingering emotions within her.

Due to the amount of people in the room, the only ones to take in the conversation were Shannon, Lori and Barbara considering none of the guys knew what was going on.

"Honey, maybe take a rest until we leave," her mother suggested, rubbing her back gently as she took Shannon to the kitchen to talk to her.

"She's just stressed about the tour," Lori claimed, rocking her baby in her arms.

He nodded, deciding to follow his wife to one of the bedrooms in his in-laws' house.

When he made it to her, he closed the door behind him and watched as she paced back and forth with her head down and her arms crossed.
