After every family member came to visit Stevie and Lily in the hospital, and although she was appreciative of everyone's care and concern, it was becoming too repetitive for the singer that she simply wanted to go home.
The only thing the blonde dreaded was going home and Lindsey not being there. They were kind of back to square one with Stevie's parents back in town, Robert in the guest bedroom, the kids in their rooms while at Lindsey's, it was his mom and brother back in town.
Walking down the hospital corridor that morning, Lindsey made his way to Stevie to help her pack her things considering the baby and herself would finally be discharged.
Dr. Arthur had decided to keep her an additional night to make sure everything stayed how it was, he even made arrangements to have one more intravenous of nutrients and iron sucrose to suppress the anemia she would have postpartum, but aside from prescribing some oral iron medications, she was good to go and the baby didn't need any special treatment.
He knocked on the door before opening it gently.
"Knock, knock..." he whispered, entering with ease. As he approached her, he settled a hand to her waist, pulling her in just slightly to greet her.
"Morning," she turned to acknowledge him and she smiled before leaning over to kiss his lips.
"Wow, you move fast, woman..." he smirked, watching as she packed everything up in the bag he'd brought just the morning before. Taking a look around, he realized she grabbed every single thing they had brought, leaving no trace behind.
"Yep, I wanna get the hell out of here," she sighed, zipping the bag up easily.
He then walked over towards the acrylic bassinet and he settled his hand on the baby's tummy, soaking in her beauty.
"I take it you're alone this morning?" she wondered.
"Yeah, I called your house to let everybody know I was getting you. I assume your kids will stay put till you call, but I don't think anybody would be on their way this early and I assume Nick is at school," he shrugged.
"I hope, I know he missed yesterday to meet his sister... Honestly, I don't think he's all that thrilled. He was more excited when she was still in the womb," she smirked. "Jeffrey and Shannon were fighting over who was gonna hold her."
He smirked, "I think he's old enough to understand that a baby is exciting, but still young enough not to really care," he assured. "I'm sure he'll come around..."
"I hope..."
"You also have to remember, Stevie, that although the whole family is excited, this stemmed from a painful situation for them," he admitted. "I know your parents are happy, Jeffrey and Shannon are happy, Robert appears happy... But deep down, there's some hurt that comes with us," he gestured.
"Why do you have to be so right?" she wondered, leaning into his side.
"I'm not trying to torment you, believe me," he wrapped his arm around her, pressing a kiss to the side of her face. Rubbing her arm, "It looks like you packed everything..."
"Yeah... Are we ready?" she wondered. "I already signed everything and I can go home... Which is another circus... I'm thinking I can go home for a bit, we can visit and all, but for the sake of my sanity, maybe we can go to your house tonight. I hate the idea of us sleeping separated. Especially you, I don't want to keep you from your daughter..."
"You're not keeping me from my daughter, honey, relax..." he rubbed her shoulder with a small chuckle escaping him. "You told me Jeffrey told you to redo his room for the baby since he moved into the condo..."
