After spending most of the morning and afternoon enjoying the fact that they were married---the newlyweds returned to earth and started packing their things to get on the road home.
With all the excitement those last few days, it seemed Stevie took her daughter's advice without even realizing it and she forgot she had kids, but the moment they had begun packing to go home, the reality of life started to kick in and she was ever so thrilled to get back home to Lily.
When the valet driver pulled up with their car, the two simply chatting about this and that while standing close as they always did.
Lindsey patted her hip, taking a step forward with their bags and he tipped the man before getting the door for his wife.
"Have a safe trip," the valet driver grinned at the two before going back inside.
"Thank you!" Stevie smiled and kind of waved before getting into the car.
Once the guitarist was done settling their things in the trunk and or back seat as needed, he made his way to the driver's seat and he took off, getting out of the way of the incoming cars.
"Should we stop for coffee or something?" he wondered, clipping his seatbelt in place.
"Only if you want to, I'm just so happy to get home back to Lily now," she admitted. "Whatever you want, honey."
"Alright, we'll stop---only because I know an hour into the drive you're gonna want something to drink."
"You know your... wife very well," her head fell at an incline and she smirked.
"Why'd you hesitate?" he retorted.
"It's not even be twenty-four hours yet," she laced her fingers through his. "It's still resonating, lover."
"I'm kidding," he kissed the back of her hand and he started driving, finding them the nearest Starbucks.
After getting their beverages of choice, they made it out of Las Vegas and were back on the 15 Freeway, finally at the beginning of their journey home.
While music blasted pretty loud, Lindsey was focused on driving while she wrote in her journal; thinking on many things from last few days, from their impromptu wedding, her son's birthday that had just passed, her other children and their reaction to come.
With her pen between two fingers, she kind of tapped the writing utensil against the page, figuring out how she was going to word everything in order, but once she wrote the date at the top of the left corner of the right page---she was off.

Well, what a weekend...
She smirked to herself.
Lindsey has obviously been very well aware of all of my inner turmoil from the stress of Robert and Kristen, the restless nights of Lily keeping us up, but most importantly, the hurt my heart feels every day I wake up and Jeffrey isn't here.
My boy was my everything. Just four days ago, it was his birthday and before I could struggle, Lindsey had me in a tailspin about getting ready for this "last minute weekend." What a liar... I have to laugh only because it was a very well planned weekend to keep me happy, yet distracted and I have been. This is me returning to the reality we have so easily created in the last couple of years. And part of that, is returning home as husband and wife.
You'd think after being married from my teens to my 40s, I'd want time to myself, but really what is time? I didn't need that when I was already in the arms of the man I so desperately wanted to be with. I have had a few bad thoughts and fears, as in, what if we lose interest in one another, years into our marriage, but I don't think it'll happen... Only because we met in high school, broke up and then got back together while remaining in one another's inner circles. Even when we weren't so close, I remember us talking more intimately about our at home lives... The point is, I don't think we'll get tired of one another, so I'm not too worried about that bad thought. It's a worry only because after 25 years, I clearly got tired of Robert and he was a good partner...
