Arriving to the hospital once more, Stevie was a little more refreshed although still feeling nauseated as her very strengthened senses were overcome by the scent of cleanser on linoleum, latex gloves as well as scrubs and even just the medical equipment; it was so clean, yet full of bacteria at the same time. She was certain she could smell the germs circulating in the air.
"Okay?" Lindsey rubbed her shoulder.
"Yeah," she swallowed hard. "I'm salivating and it's because I want to throw up," she claimed, doing her best to calm her anxieties so she could take a deep breath and stop the innate panic.
"What do you want me to do?" he wondered.
"Can you go down to the pharmacy and get me some motion sickness medicine? Like Bonine or something," she said ever so softly. "I'm gonna go check on Shannon and then Robert... It looks like we beat the kids," she added.
"Alright, I'll be back, just sit down and take it easy," he kissed her temple before walking out.
She nodded and made her way to her daughter's room first.
It was hard making a decision on who to take care of first, but the reality was, she was more anxious about her daughter because it was her child. Although, other than the crash, drugs were in her system and it unnerved her because it was like reliving the past.
When she entered her daughter's room, the girl was still sleeping soundly as she had left her.
She relieved a sigh and went ahead to sit on the bed, picking up her hand in order to cradle it.
"My baby doll, why do you have to be so rambunctious?" she wondered, shaking her head.
Suddenly, the girl's fingers moved a little bit.
Stevie looked up instantaneously, ever so relieved to not only finally see movement, but to feel movement from her considering she had been so worried, especially after learning that there were more things going on with her than just the impact of the accident.
Leaning forward, she ran her fingers through her daughter's wavy strands and she kissed her forehead before standing up and deciding to walk out to see how her husband was doing.
The singer hadn't been gone long at all when she had left, but every minute she was gone felt like an eternity away from them and she just didn't want to not be around when they woke up.
Pushing open the door to Robert's room, Stevie immediately felt the presence of people and figured it was a nurse, though when she looked up, she was taken aback.
Jeffrey was seated on the edge of the bed with his hand over his dad's, but Kristen was standing behind her son with her hand settled on his shoulder.
The young man turned abruptly at the sound of the door and he grinned.
"Hey, mom, you're back..." he stood.
"Yeah..." she whispered, raising her brow at the younger woman.
Kristen's eyes widened ever so lightly and she kind of held a sympathetic smile as she turned fully to face her.
"What's going on?" she then asked as she glanced over at her husband and then back at the two, certainly curious.
"I'm sorry to be a nuisance," the younger woman sighed, swiping her blonde hair back.
"No, don't say that..." Jeffrey stated, rubbing her back gently.
The singer crossed her arms, mostly hugging herself in order to give herself a moment to think about what was happening.
