After vomiting up the contents of her stomach---the alcohol, the singer was feeling much better, although she was still pretty drunk, much happier to be in Lindsey's presence considering he had come to get her.
"Wait, I don't wanna go home!" she panicked. "Can we stop for coffee?" she leaned over the console, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Yes, we can," he smirked, bringing his hand up to the side of her face.
He'd been around her long enough to know that she liked to party and have fun when she was drinking unless she was overly emotional, something that had come to an end once she was clean of all drugs just because she couldn't handle the hangovers while juggling motherhood. He also knew it was something she and her ex-husband would disagree on; he liked her drunk and having fun rather than in her emotional states of worry, but he also didn't like her to be out and about, getting drunk with her friends like she was accustomed to.
Robert had always been more offended that she didn't want to get drunk with him, she preferred drinking with her friends or people she didn't know. Although, there were many occasions she drank with Lindsey.
"Where are we?" her head popped up and she looked around. "Let's go there!" she pointed.
"That's a hotel, Steph..."
"I know, I've stayed there. They have a restaurant and they'll give me coffee," she sighed, ever so exasperated from explaining. "They close at two..."
"Alright, I'm trusting you," he mumbled, pulling into the parking lot.
"You'll see, I know what I'm talking about, daddy..."
He smirked.
"What?" she smirked, pulling her seat belt off. "You don't like that?"
"I mean..." he trailed, chuckling right after because it wasn't that he didn't but he knew well she was just being over the top due to her condition.
Pushing open the car door to get out. Stepping out, she sort of stumbled over her own foot.
"Are you alright?" he quickly reacted. He got out on his side and closed the door in order to make it over to her to see her sitting on the ground, holding onto the door handle.
"Mhmm," she smirked.
He helped her easily, standing her on her feet.
"Where's my purse?" she asked, squinting into the car since her vision was altered, though it was dark.
"Stand right there, don't move," he said sternly before opening the backseat door to retrieve her purse from the seat, where he threw it when he was carrying her to the car.
"Okay, you don't have to be grumble-grumble about it," she mumbled to herself.
"What?" he asked, closing the door.
"Don't be Grumpy Gus at me," she added.
"I'm not being any type of way, I just don't want you to fall," he assured, handing her the purse. Wrapping an arm around her waist to stabilize her, he shut the passenger door and locked the vehicle as he guided her onto the curb.
Spinning around, she wrapped her arm around his neck and she kissed him lovingly.
He smirked.
"Can we stay the night?" she wondered, running her fingers threw his hair.
"I don't know if that's the best idea, baby, Shannon and Nicholas are alone at the house with Lily..."
"Bummer," she sighed. "I need some coffee and then maybe we can at least go to the room to sleep for a little bit."
