When morning came along, Stevie and Catherine would be up early in the morning to take Robert to the hospital in order for him to have his spinal surgery.

Mostly everybody knew that Stevie didn't exactly get along with Danielle, and although Catherine was a sweetheart, she was ever so morbid and overly dramatic; they were things that didn't mix well for the blonde, especially not with her stress levels as of late.

Between Robert and the rest of the family, they could all tell the distinct relationship the singer had to her in-laws, but nobody ever really talked it out. When Stevie had tried to approach Danielle with the question of why she didn't like her, she would dust her off and tell her she was crazy. Surely, it made the singer crazy simply because she knew she didn't like her, but not why.

When Lori arrived with Barbara, Stevie grinned instantly.

"Here, honey, I brought you some good coffee," the redhead smiled as she gave over a Starbucks cup. "It's something called a White Chocolate Mocha... It sounded good and I know you're having the sweet cravings in the morning. I also brought you a blueberry scone and a bagel," she added.

"You're the sweetest," she sighed. "I been too lazy and anxious to get up and get something."

"Well, that's why I'm here..." she plopped down next to her. "What time is surgery supposed to start?"

"Ten. We've been here since seven because they wanted to prep him by eight."

"Awe, well, you and I know better than anybody, they've not started yet," Barbara rubbed her daughter's knee. "You know they want us here early but they probably didn't prep him till about nine or so... They're gonna call you any minute to see him so you can wish him well."

"Yeah, I know... I know, it's just a big surgery..."

"I know, honey, relax," she rubbed her arm. "Where are his sisters?"

"Cathy went to go get Dani," she rolled her eyes.

"I told your dad and brother we could meet for lunch somewhere while we wait, that way you can get away from them. I'm sure they won't leave his side," Lori added.

"I would, but I don't want them talking shit. I heard them arguing with him last night before I initially came down; Dani was making a big deal out of me leaving for tour."

"Did Robert defend you?" her mother asked.

"Yeah," she nodded. "He's right, I have a contract. I have record company to appease before anything. I don't want Modern or Atlantic jumping down Karen's throat for my sake, that's why I'm touring. If I get it over with, I'm good to stop working for a while. That way I can take the time to take care of myself the rest of this pregnancy and then raise the baby. It's taken me a year to finish this album, it's finally gotten released... I'm finishing the tour."

"I get it," Lori nodded.

Pretty soon, Catherine was guiding her older sister to the area Stevie and her family were sitting at.

"Good morning," Barbara cheerfully broke the ice.

"Good morning," Danielle grinned.

"I'm sure you guys remember my mom, Barbara," Stevie mentioned. "My sister in-law, Lori," she gestured.

"It's nice to see you," Danielled grinned softly with her cup of coffee in hand.

"It's been so long," Catherine went forth with shaking either of the women's hands. "I hope you both have been well. Lori, I know you're touring with Stevie soon, that's exciting."

"It always is," the redhead replied.

"Have they said anything yet about Robert?" Danielle asked, cutting off the conversation.
