~ Months Later ~
"Your turn, daddy," Stevie mumbled, her face smashed into the crook of her inner arm as she laid on her side.
"Alright," he smirked, forcing himself up for probably the fourth time.
Both of them were desperately trying to get some sleep, but before they knew it, they were simply laying in bed with their eyes shut until it was dawn.
They had a rough night with Lily and every time one of them laid down, the other got up; after feeding her, soothing her and everything in between while finding nothing wrong with her, the woman was tapped out.
She smirked to herself as soon as she heard his subtle groan from just getting up.
Stumbling into the baby's room, Lindsey rubbed his eyes to simply see the little girl laying on her back, crying as she swung her little arm around.
"Hey, little one?" he whispered, grabbing her attention as he turned the dim lamp on.
She stopped crying almost immediately, looking back at him.
"Why are we crying, huh?" he then leaned over the crib and settled a hand to her tummy, rubbing it ever so gently. "What's the matter, are you bored?" he smirked, scooping her up with ease, checking to see if she needed a diaper change.
She smiled instantly as soon as she was in his arms, getting the attention she was sure she deserved.
"Nope, you're all good," he pressed a kiss to her head, bouncing her gently. "Well, come on then... Mommy and I can surely go for a roommate," he sat her in an upright position, laying her head on his shoulder, so he wouldn't have to as he toted her through the second story to make it back to the bedroom.
Stevie was still in the same position he had left her in and although it seemed she was awake, she was dozing off and on, but his shuffling about caused her to stir once more and as though she wasn't expecting him, she jolted as soon as he pressed a knee into the mattress to get back into bed.
"Sorry, baby, go back to sleep," he whispered.
She turned over to her other side and she looked at the two of them. "What's up?" she asked, reaching for the baby's foot.
"She just wants to be awake," he smirked, laying down with her on his chest. "But I got it... Maybe she'll get tired and go back to sleep..."
She sighed lightly out of relief, curling a bit closer to him in order to keep her hand on Lily's back, wanting the baby to feel the warmth of both of them at the same time.
Lindsey got comfortable once more and he settled his arm around the woman, pressing a kiss to her head as he began to doze off once again.
The last few months had been quite eventful from Jeffrey initially leaving, to Robert and Shannon moving out and to New York to Lindsey moving in, while as a unit, they took care of their daughter, Nicholas, Grace---when she was around, and Kristen.
With Damon gone, it was very easy for Shannon to pack up and leave with her father to get her mind off things while spending time with his side of the family, but for Kristen, it was different. With Jeffrey away and her parents not very close to her, she was alone. It was the only thing to concern Shannon considering the woman was pregnant with her niece or nephew, but that's when her mother put her at ease about leaving.
It was simple for Stevie to put her feelings from the past completely behind her in order to help her take care of herself since she was pregnant with her grandchild. Considering Lindsey had apologized for lying to both women, though both women were passed such things since they had all moved on with their rightful partners, he was happy to be a friend to her in her time of need as well.
