When Lindsey arrived to San Jose, his brother, Jeffrey would pick him up from the airport; his demeanor much calmer once he laid eyes on his brother.

He had spent the entirety of his quick flight jolting his leg out of nerves over what was going on with his mother, but the way his brother carried himself in even serious situations, it was always comforting because he did a better job at hiding his emotions.

"How's mom?" he wondered, hugging his brother since he hadn't exactly seen him in a while.

"She's good. She's stable and she told me to tell you not to worry when I got you," he patted his back as he pulled away.

"I really don't know what she expects, she's my mom. We lost dad, we lost Gregory."

"Yeah..." he agreed. Throwing his brother's duffle bag into the backseat of the car, "I left after visiting hours were, I told her I'd bring you by in the morning. So, you can rest and chill out before seeing her."

He nodded his head, still anxious that he couldn't see her just yet.

Walking over to the driver's side, he noticed his brother still stiff over the situation so he paused. "But everything is fine. She just had a small stroke, they're keeping an eye on her but she's not in any danger."

"That's good to know," he assured, walking towards the vehicle to open the car door. "But do they know why she would have had a stroke?" he asked as he got in.

"They're running tests but it looks like her blood pressure was a little high," he answered, reaching back to pull his seat belt on. "Nothing crazy considering she is a pretty healthy person."

He nodded, pulling his seat belt across his chest as well.

"Mom told me not to call you because this incident was so minor, but I told her I should call you because you had a right to know what was going on. I know you worry about her all the time."

"I appreciate it, really," he agreed.

His brother patted his shoulder and then started the car in order to get them home.

When the next morning arrived, the brothers would make their way to the hospital first thing when visiting hours had started to see their mother.

Jeffrey led his younger brother to where she was stationed, but then left to go find a doctor to ask further questions about their mother's situation.

Lindsey entered the room, only to see that his mom was sleeping soundly and appeared to be rather comfortable.

He then took a seat next to the bed and he lifted her hand, kissing the back of it gently.

She shifted awake and opened her eyes only to smile brightly at the sight of her youngest child.

"Hey, mom," he smiled, leaning into swipe the side of her face before pressing a kiss to her head.

She extended both arms, reaching to hug him fully.

"How are you feeling?" he wondered.

"Even better now that you're here. I missed you, honey," she assured, kissing the side of his face.

"I missed you too, mom," he kissed her face a couple more times. "But seriously, how are you feeling?" he wondered as he pulled away.

"I feel good," she assured. "It was a mild stroke, nothing dangerous. The doctor said that most people who have strokes like these don't feel them, but I was sensitive enough to feel it. He also said most people don't come to the hospital, but it was great that I did. They're gonna put me on blood pressure medication and send me home."
