As soon as Lindsey arrived to the Walker house, he realized the front door was unlocked and he made his way in, not finding anybody on the lower level of the home.
"Steph?" he called out, hoping not to disturb anybody in the household.
Pretty soon, soft thuds echoed through the home, gradually becoming louder as Shannon came down the stairs in a bit of a panic.
He was beyond shocked to see her to begin with that he was really at a loss for words despite his worry for Stevie.
"Lindsey, come upstairs, my mom's really sick," she said with concern.
That was all it took for him to snap back into reality and he rushed passed her, skipping steps to make it up to the second floor.
Shannon followed after him, seeing how he easily caressed her mother's face and swiped her bangs back to examine her.
"You're burning up," he mumbled.
The blonde had started doze off that when he spoke to her, she tried hard to peel her eyes open, although they easily rolled back and she shut them again.
"She had some Tylenol for the fever but it hasn't kicked in yet. She told me you were coming so I didn't call for help, but..." she sighed. "Where's my little brother when ya need him?"
He kind of smirked to himself.
"She thinks she's in labor and she said she's got anemia, I feel like that can't exactly be good..."
"Yeah, she's been dealing with it the last couple months," he cleared his throat as he stood tall.
"Should I call an ambulance?" she wondered.
"No, that's okay, I'll take her to the hospital," he pressed a knee into the mattress to get the leverage he needed to scoop her up.
Feeling herself within his grasp, Stevie wrapped her arms around his neck, trying to help him since she knew she was giving him dead weight.
"I'll follow you, I have her shoes and coat."
Spinning around with the woman in his arms; "Cover her with her jacket, she's shivering."
She sighed and did as asked, knowing well she had to be sick if she was both perspiring and freezing.
He then carried on with taking the singer down the stairs and straight to the passenger side of his car.
"Should I go with or stay?" she settled her shoes on the floor of the passenger side next to her purse.
"We'll be fine, I have everything she needs in the trunk just in case she is in labor," he sighed, taking in the way she drooped to the side before shutting the door. "Do me a favor and call Lori. Meantime, you should probably wait for your brothers and dad, let them know what's happening."
She kind of nodded.
"Other than that, I'll call you guys if something happens. Worst case, they give her something for the fever and get her iron levels back in check."
Listening to how sharp he was, how calm he was over the situation and simply, how much he cared about her mother---she was beginning to really see her error.
"Sound good?"
She nodded once more. "Please, update me. Once everybody gets home, I'll visit on my way home."
"Whatever you're comfortable with," he agreed and then made his way around the vehicle to get into the driver's seat. Opening the door, he took a glance at her from the distance. "It's good to see you, kid."
